If you are telling the truth about FInk posting that it is due to a power outage, do you mind sharing with use where, exactly, he posted this info? The entire site is down, so I assume that it wasn't posted in the POF Forums.

Also, is the site down for EVERYONE? That is to say, that NO ONE (regardless of where they live: Canada, America, England etc.) has been able to access the site all day? Or could the problem be potentially limited to just one segment of POF customers? Sorry if that is a stupid question, I have never known all that much about web sites, IT issues, etc. I'd appreciate a response from anyone who does. Thanks.

I just wanted to thank the admin. of this site for keeping us all updated throughout the day on the situation. It appears as if POF is going to be down at least through tomorrow, and maybe longer. It's going to be a long wait guys. The sh*t must have really hit the fan for merry Marcus and his POF crew.

Well POF is still down in NY...at least they fixed their spelling mistake... "multipul to multiple" They must be reading this site. Hopefully it will be restored soon or at least we can get another update ASAP.

Ok, so the site is obviously a simple asp page with a SQL backend. The site has always looked like a weekend project which just so happens to kick ass and has taken the world by storm. There are very few admins, so I would expect the outage to last a while, but this is the first time I've ever seen it do this and for free...thats remarkable.
So it appears theres a connection issue to the SQL server database, suprised they actually allowed the warnings to be visible, would've thought that was a security risk, but thats just MHO.
Peeps, be patient, and be thankful to the sys admins and wish 'em luck...just hope the database(s) haven't corrupted....PLUG THE ETHERNET CABLE BACK IN BOYS!

IF it helps any, I'm in the UK and POF has been down the whole of today. Pretty safe bet that the server being down has affected POF users worldwide. Hope that answers your question

He lives in my city (Vancouver, BC). There is no power outage due to weather, that's for sure!!!

And his last name is not Fink, it is Frind.

Interestingly, there is nothing posted on the press release link either. However, here is his direct pr link: pr@pof.com

But why waste everyone's time in emailing him? Obviously he is busy and now everyone knows the site is just down as the servers got too busy. It's happened before. No biggie, go to the gym and come back later hahahah!

^^^^New message, complete with spelling error, that pops up whenever you try to access POF. I guess this answers a few critical questions. Let's see how much longer it takes POF to get back online.

I'm sure it's a server issue.

Everything will be restored and back running soon.

It's a great site and isn't going anywhere.
