Do not waste your money on chemistry.com. Tried there free weekend, wrote a profile and loaded a few pictures. Recieved 10 matches right away. One of which responsed. We started communicating, she seemed interesting and we started emailing back and forth. Well turns out she is trying to scam me out of some money. Seems she has a business importing antiques which sounded interesting. Well she tells me she is in Malaysia and will be returning in about a week to a city near me. Sounds a little strange but story is possible. Alot of antique stores around where I live and they advertise that a new shipment has arrived so I am thinking OK this women is OK. So then she tells me that she has spent $350,000.00 on antiques which sounds high to me. Well about 2 days she is telling me she does not have enough money left to pay customs duties and only has enough left to pay for the hotel for a few more days. Just how stupid does she think people are. So then I decide to run the photo's of some of my matches through a data base of know scammers. Well sure enough another one of my matches shows up there. So 2 out of the 10 were scammers. Then I notice that chemistry would show if any of your matches were active in the last 24 hours. Well out of 40 plus matches there were 2 who were active and their interests did not match any of my interests. So it seems that your matches are either scammers or are not members. Luckily I only signed up for a month. Oh by the way after the free weekend the number of new matches dropped down to maybe 1 every 3 or 4 days. So save your money.

It is true. There are scammers active on Chemistry.com. Just as on every other dating site.

Chemistry does take that seriously. They have both an automated system and a security team to scan for scammer or fraudulent activity. There for the lifespan of a scammer-account on the site is in average 20-30 minutes.

They also have the 'report a concern' option. Use that, and the profile will be flagged instantly for review. Your not just a person, your member of a community. Communities are people driven, not company.
