My story about BlackPeopleMeet

To make a long story long: They pulled the old bait and switch. I was a long time free member and started going back on there within the last 6 months. On the web version and saw that I had climbed up to 81 new messages that I couldn't read or even see the image of who sent any of them unless I joined. So upon joining and downloading the app for easier access I find out that the app says I have only 16 messages. I still had the web version open on my phone so I screenshot the 81 and pressed refreshed which then went down to 16 to match the app. Bait and switch.

Then I noticed that I have to pay about $6 extra if I, a paid member, wants someone who isn't a member to read the already paid for message I sent them. In my opinion, that's something that should be mentioned upfront in plain view ON the site to any potential member, not something you would have to look up to find or find out after you've already given them your money.

So I wrote to them saying that I just paid for three months and will not be renewing nor will I recommend the site for the misleading practices. That the least they could do since I already paid is to remove the "pay extra to communicate with non members after you've already paid to be a member" and allow open discourse for those you've taken money from.

LOL instead of addressing my concerns and displeasure, they deleted my carefully written profile the very next day saying it was against their community guidelines in retaliation. I've had that profile on there for over 5 years because I still want what I want from a potential partner, the only thing I've changed are the pictures.

You're going to find people who are only out for sex, people who are rude, can't spell properly, catfishes others, bad teeth, bad manners, etc etc on any and every site. That's not the issue here and that's not exclusive to BPM. The site is trash and their practices are plain old petty bad business.
