I do think the experience is different for women in contrast to men and if you're a decent looking woman, you will more than likely not have a good experience and here's why:

1. most of the guys on the site do NOT read profiles and most are NOT seeking a quality connection, but quantity interactions based on sending multiple flirts and likes.

2. many people on the site are married or involved, those that fall under that scenario are typically seeking a hookup, NOT a dating or relationship situation with one person.

3. the site has no limit on the amount of flirts and likes that can be sent to a member.

4. customer service does not care, nor do they do their job to alleviate any issues regarding harassment.

5. even if you preface that you would not like to receive flirts or likes, most on there are aliterate and will spam your inbox aimlessly.

6. there is very little quality on there; if you are crazy enough to waste money and pay to use the site, do not have any hopes or expectations.

7. there are a lot of very bitter, angry men that will send you hateful messages if you do not reply to them or if your reply is not fast enough. Even though, replying to any guy you're not interested in, usually ends bad even when you're nice and tactful.
Ex: you live on the east coast and they live on the west coast, their profile messages reads that they're a bit angry and you're not attracted to their look. Why do women have to be forced to be open to someone they are NOT attracted to????? Some of those men have very misaligned expectations. It's called dating within your own range.

8. if you state that you are not open to married or involved men; be prepared to hear from them any way, because they feel entitled that you should still make concessions for them. And, I'm not even speaking on those that are awaiting their divorced to be finalized, but those that have been "separated" for many years.

9. you will hear from the know-it-all type of men that will try to tell you why you're single, meanwhile they're on a single's site too, but it's their passive-aggressive attempt to try to demean you into giving them a chance.

10. you will be bombarded by those that will feel entitled to your personal information, sometimes after just a couple of messages. Or, those that will want to skype with you and will try to use reverse psychology by saying things like: I need to make sure you're not a weirdo or you are really you.
*I do agree that IF there is a mutual interest to use some type of web video feature to validate who you're corresponding with, but many of these guys are either, presumptuous in assuming the woman is automatically interested in them and do not allow the women to make that initiation.

11. the site overall is antiquated and laughable to think that the same company that owns match.com owns this one, but this site is like the stepchild of their brand. This site is not devised for quality connections, but merely a quantity of hookups and sexual interludes. I believe the alleged "success stories" are not real and were posted by the site to give the illusion that some have found a quality connection. I would never recommend that site to anyone, unless you're looking for a hookup. POF is free and offers less intrusive interactions. You're welcome.

I read about the wonderful connections on this site.... they sound sooo wonderful. But I have experienced a great deal of phony, fake profiles of women that either don’t exist or someone pretending to be. I been on BPM for the past 3-3 an the half yrs off and on and still see the same women, the same profiles. I met a few and most would come up with excuses not to meet. I met one who stole from me the first day. I had to make out a police report. This site is sure nuf a scam to the upmost! Not saying every woman is..... because I haven’t met them all, but it’s has to be a high percentage!

I agree with your assessment about BPM, but POF isn't much better.
Most online dating services has a big hole, it's security. The companies will not upgrade its security policies if they even have one.
So, use common sense, very under rated, when dealing with the online dating services and with potential suitors.

Good Afternoon,

As I was reading your message, I had to serious laugh because everything you are saying is absolutely TRUE!!!

Black People Meet is the worst dating website for any single and educated black women seeking to find a good man. I don't want to seem very classist. However, the truth of the matter is that a lot of men on this website either have:
A. Baby mama issues
B. Commitment issues
C. Hatred towards black women issues
D. Mental Health Issues
E. Co-Dependency Issues
F. Lack of education and you can't bring their ass anywhere because they might embarrass you issues
G. Some or all of the above issues

I have been writing my commentary on this blog over the past few years or so hoping that each time I revisit this dating site review blog, the experiences would be different. However, that is not the case. Seems to me that the quality of 'upstanding men" seems to diminish. Meanwhile, the numbers of ignorant, self-loathing men is steadily on the rise.

Not sure where many of you ladies are from but I hail from Boston, MA. Some of the men I have chatted with were nothing but parasites looking for nothing serious. Yet they claim to "want to meet the right woman" *censored*.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME LADIES!!!

First and foremost, this can be equally said for the women as well.. I'm not here to bash any gender like most of the comments I have read thus far.. These so called reviews are one sided. We as a people have issues no doubt but the same could be said for the women also. I know how men can be but the woman has just as much input as the man. Yes, we may have had some bad experiences but for the most part all dating websites share similar situations.. but don't let reviews or comments steer you into thinking that all is bad.. men and women lie..

Like you, I visit this blog from time to time to read the reviews. I see BPM has not changed. Im in Dallas,TX and Im amazed how challenging it is to meet a quality guy. Time has definitely changed. Im also an educated black women who is financially stable. Most good brothers are in relationships. The singles one have issues.

I agree with you misscutthemoff. Sisters should save their money. BPM is a joke. Im walking TV an they are showing the BPM commercial. Cute commercial, but not reality.
