well, well... the time has come when I've decided to call pof a day and cancel my account. Why? As one of the last poster described it exacly... lack of response, generally... then when you do get a response, you can lose them so - so easily! Then it's back to sending message after message... and its very damaging to a guy's self imagine, to be honest. You sort of learn to accept the lack of response, but it still has a drag effect on you.

Now, I've better things to do than spend hour after hour, ,spread over many months, messaging people who dont response atleast 95% of the time. My profile is (or was) brilliant and had been faved many times. I'm not a bad looking guy either... not hot, but ok. Like the other poster said, I only message a potential match; I really dont bother with model girls.

Then there's the ones you do finally get to meet. I have been on three dates from that site... and all of them were very different to the mental imagine I had in my mind from their pics. Some really mislead by posting thin pics, then it reality they are much bigger.... which sounds a shallow thing to say, but attraction's attraction... and I decided to meet them based on the pictures they posted, which should be recent and accurate, as are (or were) mine.

If I could just get 1/10 response rate, I think that would be the min I would need to justify staying on that site... and it doesnt happen. I guess I can get 1/14, but 15 well thought out messages is too much writing unless I'm getting a degree or paid.

I've been on there for abut 17 months... which I consider a good crack of the whip and enough time to consider it a lost cause... although I didnt spend all that time messaging and using the site to its full potential... otherwise I'd probably have gone mad!

If you're on there and are getting laid, or longterm love, or whatever you want, on a regular basis, well done... you're probably in the top 10% in looks. A lot of people have talked about a high male to female ratio driving up women's standards... I can believe it.

Met a couple of guys..one was very sweet very nice very caring but didn't feel any attraction. The other, whom I thought was pretty great, broke my heart. My friend introduced me to the site and he's currently now messaging her. He doesn't know she's my friend but that's not really the point. Don't get your hopes up, don't give in too easily, don't be too eager, it will never be that easy.
