It's true. There is a higher concentration of snobs on POF than anyplace else in the universe. You know what I think it is? They get emails all day from guys saying "you're hot" , "you're sexy"... Eventually, something snaps in their heads and they think they're supermodels. I call them POF supermodels.

Lololol... You are partly right. Sometimes you get so many emails and are busy working exc ... that you don't have time to respond to them all and then you forget. I don't think people are purposely trying to be snobs. Happy fishing !!

Pof Supermodels, lol, Im a decent lookin guy with a good personality and I went on POF and found that all the negative stuff reported was true because I sent so many emails just to watch them get "read deleted" and when I did actually get a response it happen to of been a woman who said she was average but really was averagly obese. I found many woman on there looking for attention, an email buddy or chat friend but nothing serious. It is so true that there standards are way too high but there personality doesnt fit the face pick. I guess the only good thing I can say is that its free to IM and make a profile but thats about it and I wouldnt dare try to pay for anymore then the service offers for free.

I would agree with you that maybe they are just receiving better offers yet I continue to see the same divas there over two years and they still havent met anyone or they are just there to keep their egos boosted even tho they already have someone !!

I think your standards must be too high. Most women have children at some point, and do not continue to look like skinny models for more than a few yrs at best. Lots of men (many of whom we do not find cute at all either) continue to seek a beautiful, skinny model their whole lives, and these are the men who find no one. A beautiful, slim smart woman (as well as a man) is being constantly approached by men (or women). The less attractive men still go after the very best looking women, no matter how old, unattractive, overweight or how little they have to offer, then moan and complain the women are "stuck up." Us average, or overweight or older women just want a partner with good values who care. Most of the time, we get NO offers at all, while the men sit around, complain about stuck up women and drool over models and teenagers.

It is the best site I've encountered (and I've checked a few). Practically everything is free - even detailed search before you login. Also it had the biggest "dating pool".

As about women who "read-delete" - no wonder. Majority of e-mails I am getting are from guys 9-16 years older (imagine, I am 47 years old women, would I write to 31 y.o. guy?!), C&P (very generic, cut and paste). At best - something like "your profile sounds nice, check mine and write what you think about it". At worst - full of mistakes, all CAPS, full of clichés (e.g. "I am very simple guy, honest guy, I am new at this, my friends advised me to use this site, no head games please, no baggage please " What do you expect me to answer?

As about having a car... If it is your choice not to have one, why you don't want to accept MY choice - not to be interested in guys without one?

Totally agree. A lot of men on POF lie about their age -- by 5 to even 10 years! Then when you arrange a meet, it's totally obvious they've lied -- and they just shrug and say, "Everybody lies." What happened to honesty? They say they want an honest woman -- then they lie about their own age. Unbelievable.

I been at many sites, and find the age thing is also done by women 5-10 years and old pictures, also not revealing many important information or misleading.

While I wouldn't want a guy whose job is sitting on his butt watching tv and playing COD all day, I wouldn't know how to deal with a guy who made 100K a year. I grew up not having much, and I dated dudes who were in similar straights. I'm the type who will help pay the tab, or we take turns paying, etc. I don't ask for a lot, and I feel uncomfortable when a guy buys me something expensive. It makes me wonder what he really wants.

I agree with your comment. I am a lady in my mid 40's, kids are grown, have a home and a car, but because I'm not a busty stick I get passed by.
It amazes me how many guys on POF and even other sites, term themselves, "attractive" when they obviously haven't seen themselves in the mirror lately, or the ones who want a nice looking, H/W proportionate woman, yet they probably can't see their toes for their beer belly.
Guys want models or gals young enough to be their daughters. That's why there are the same men on many different sites, while the women they left aren't having any luck.

Sounds like you will only consider someone who is very thin, beautiful AND a great personality, face, etc. Well, almost 70% of the U.S. IS overweight. When you include everything else you've mentioned, you've probably eliminated 90% of the population. So the girls to whom you send your mail are swamped with offers, and maybe with men who appeal to them much more than you. The higher your standards, the greater the rejection. Either consider more people, become rich, intelligent, beautiful and mr. personality yourself, or stay alone.

The definition of overweight and the definition of obese are two different things. I'm not sure of the exact statistic and I'm not going to look them uo right now. But you are both proably close. 70% "overweight" and 30% clinically 'Obese" The amout of excess weight determines the difference.

Latest statistics for Americans is 63.1% of adults are overweight, AND AMONG THESE, 26.5% are obese.

Yes, if you select for somebody in a healthy weight range you will be excluding a majority of the candidates.

Unfortunatly, some guy's are really good guy's with good diets and have high standards for a reason! A good metaphore for this post is: We good healthy men are looking for a super shinny racing bike... Not a Moped!

Umm, no, 26.5% are obese. These percentages are *included* in the 60%+ of those who are overweight.

It's not 26% of 60% it,s' 26% plus the extra 35%-40% who are overweight, that makes roughly 2/3 of the US are overweight or obese.

Statistics aren't hard unless you deliberately misread what was presented and do zero comparison to ensure what your'e spouting is even close to reality.

I travel through Atlanta airport a lot, one of the largest airports in the world. Waiting for a connecting flight I decided to closely observe people. Discounting kids under 13, it seemed that most people were overweight, out of shape, or a combination of both. If I spotted a physically fit person, who was also pretty or good looking, they stood out like a white American in Japan. Unfortunately, America has become the land of the out the of shape and the heavy. Most Americans have become lazy and don't do what it takes to stay in shape. Everyone looks at models in advertisements and wants to be like them. However, very few people actually ever could be models even if they exercise daily and eat the right stuff. Too many ugly, old, out of shape, people chasing a very few model types. Ain't gonna work.
