The 2016 Dating Sites Reviews Single's Choice Award poll was launched on October 13th, 2016 and in two and half months closed for voting on January 1st, 2017. By this point it had 407 people cast their votes. For the first question of the poll, it asked our visitors what paid dating site or app would you recommend for the Single's Choice Award. Voters had an option to select from 10 possible answers of the top dating services of 2016 (as chosen by the Editor's). This is 2 more dating services to choose from compared to last year. For this award the top voted service receives Gold, followed by Silver, and for third, Bronze.

The recipient of the Gold 2016 Single's Choice Award is Match.com. Match received a total of 83 votes which worked out to 20.4% of all votes cast. This gave match a strong 6% lead in votes when compared to the dating service which received the Silver.

The recipient of the Silver 2016 Single's Choice Award is eHarmony. This year eHarmony received 57 votes which is 14% of the total votes cast. This gives them a solid position over third. At the end of this year eHarmony went through a number of changes including updates to their relationship questionnaire and expanding how matching works. It will be interesting to see how this affects things next year during voting.

The recipient of the Bronze 2016 Single's Choice Award is Elite Singles. Elite Singles received 49 votes which is 12% of all votes cast. This is the first time Elite Singles took part in the Single's Choice Awards showing that their members believe in this new service.

Late in 2016, eHarmony made a number of bold moves by launching several big new features for their website and dating apps which continue to roll out early in 2017 for some locations. One of the more exciting ones is that eHarmony now shows you your compatibility score with your matches. You can see your top 3 attributes for matching which predicts a long and successful relationship plus, members will also be able to drill down further to see how they match in other dimensions of compatibility (for all 29).

eHarmony also reduced the initial profile questionnaire so that it will take most users only 10 minutes to sign up for a free membership, fill in the profile, and start receiving matches. Previously completing the profile took on average 40 minutes. Members will still be able to fill in the expanded eHarmony profile at a later time to ensure that they will receive the same high quality matches as before.

eHarmony Compatibility Scoring

Ever wondered why eHarmony thinks you are more compatible with some matches than others? Now, the company is offering a look behind the curtain of its secretive matching algorithm by unveiling key dimensions of compatibility to users.

The veteran online dating company is introducing a new compatibility scoring feature called “The Two of You Together,” where people can identify the matches who score at an advanced level of compatibility. This feature will show the top three attributes for matches that predict successful and lasting relationships. In addition, users can drill down to see how a match scores on all dimensions such as emotional energy, kindness and intellect, and learn more about what each means.

Previously, each new eHarmony member was provided with an analysis of his/her personality type and preferences, including strengths and weaknesses when it comes to forming relationships. This new feature adds depth to this process by showing “behind the scenes” why you might connect better with one match than another.
