WooPlus love Advisor

WooPlus, an inclusive dating app for curvy people, is testing out its new live feature ‘Love Advisor,’ which aims to help its users find love and curb bad behaviors like ghosting and endless messaging that leads nowhere, according to the company’s press release.

Love Advisor is a live support feature that will help users better communicate when they are using the app, offering real-time guidance so they can avoid some common dating pitfalls.

According to the press release, Love Advisor will provide:

  • On demand, undivided attention that allows “users to express their honest feelings within a space where they can be themselves.”
  • “Uplifting, wholesome advice” with conversational tips to help build momentum in conversations and keep them going past the ice breaker stage. These tips will also help users navigate conversations about dating during the pandemic.
  • Tips on self-reflection so users of the app can gain a new perspective. The Love Advisor will share insight on how a user can shift their current (likely negative) perceptions about dating to consider what they want and deserve. The end result is to assist them in finding more suitable matches.

WooPlus surveyed its users during the pandemic lockdowns to determine what they wanted from dating apps and found that 72 percent wanted “advice on love and relationships.”

This was a wake-up call for the company during a time when more people than ever were signing up for dating apps. Tinder and Bumble reported conversations over their apps surged 19-26% since the pandemic lockdowns began, and Tinder noted an all-time high of activity in March and April of last year when the pandemic first took hold. People were lonely and looking for connection, but despite the increased activity, many users were still left wanting more from their app experience.

WooPlus pointed out that while many dating apps have launched new features like in-app virtual dating and expanded options when it comes to matching, it’s not clear if users were considerably happier using dating apps to connect. Daters have been given more options and more flexibility with dating apps when they couldn’t meet in person, but did this result in new or lasting relationships?

The study showed that despite the increasing number of active users, WooPlus daters were still looking for some guidance during this uncertain time of social distancing, on top of the normal struggles of online dating. Many were looking for ways to start and hold a good conversation or how to better express themselves online, while some wanted guidance on determining what they wanted from a match.

WooPlus has over 5 million members, describing itself as “an inclusive lifestyle choice for curvy people to feel attractive, confident and loved for who they are.” For more on the service you can read our WooPLus dating app review.
