I’m from the UK and find pof for men to be a absolute joke, the high expectations women have on that site is ludicrous and this obsession with men having to be 6 foot and over is over the top and most profiles have height requirements in them. The one that gets me though is very obese women actually have shopping lists of what a man must come with before she will give him time of day, which I could go on and on but if you’re a guy the odds are totally against you from the start and if youYanks think your women are bad enough, UK women are just as judgmental, superficial, arrogant, rediculous high expectation seeking idiots who clearly don’t know the difference between a dream and real life.

I dont recommend the site as the women on there are untrustworthy and horrible (read the forums to see just how nasty they are).

While your review is harsh, I have to agree and this is coming from a female member of that site. Which the site is totally different for a women than a man but I never understood why men came across as bitter at first but after a lovely male friend joined that site, he showed me all the (un)read/deleted messages and actual messages recieved that rejected him over the smallest things like being a tiny bit under six foot in height or his job being a factory worker.

So yes, pof is fine if you are a female but for the guys out there it can be a horrible experience.

i think the site is designed that way. I'm a 28 year old single male and have recently joined the site. Girls will get 9325890 crappy messages which eventually forces them to be stricter. I will admist I am guilty of sending out crap messages when I was first on testing the waters. I'm not the type to just go cannonballling off of the diving board into the deep end of the pool.

this is basically how I see it plays out on this site:

Legit guy cycle: 1. sends out crap messages >> 2. does research>> 3. refines message>> 4. still gets minimal responses>> 5. leaves site out of frustration>> 6. later comes back repeats steps 1-4>> 7. goes to forum for advice, they advise him to change his profile>> 8.guy changes his profile 60 times until it's no longer resembles him anymore>>9. finally lands a date with a girl, she figures out he's completely different from his profile or a creep then gets pissed> rinse and repeat whole cycle

combine that with scammers/creeps and men out numbering women like 10485 to 1 and that leads to the girls cycle below.

legit girl cycle: 1. Gets blasted with 1024785 crap messages from shy/newbs/creeps/scammer >2. defenses and requirements go up> 3. girl finally finds a guy she think can work out, ends up he's not all like his profile or a scammer/creep> 4. defenses and requirement really go up and adds in "no games or stalker plz thx" >> 5. gets to the point where it's almost impossible for any guy to break through her defenses let alone a shy guy/dating newb.

Also double standards like women can post sexy bikini pictures to attract men on here, but if a guy puts up a shirtless picture they frown upon it..
