POF is a heavily manipulated environment to maximize ad revenue. So a lot of time is required to use the site. It also doesn't have a user base segmentation. That ultimately means you can only get a 25% response rate at best because a lot of profile would simply not be interested even though you could view them. Most often the response rate will be in the 10-15% range. Really, why would you put in any effort for a success rate of only 10%. And that's just a response NOT a meeting.

For a guy to do well in that environment he would need to be a solid 7/10 on all attributes. If you are not at least that you are most certainly wasting your time on POF. Keep in mind of course that all women on the site are looking for a better then average than themselves, based on their own opinion of themselves.

As well, there are a fair number of women on the site just sticking up a profile hoping for the long shot and nothing else will do ... you're wasting your time emailing them. And their are a number of women on the site who will reject every guy, as that's their plan to start with.

Also, POF is structured to give the illusion of a high number of people actively using the site. When in fact, there is never really anymore than 300-400 active in any specific age group, at any one time. That's just slightly better, if that, than a large dance hall. Why spend any significant amount of time there for so few people?

I could go on about the obvious tricks POF is using, but the above should be more than enough to make most reasonable people flee the site.

AND of course, there is most definitely a fairly stagnant user vase on POF anyway.

Finally, as a guy, why would you want to be dating women that are meeting and dating that many guys anyway? Surely, that's less than ideal.

As a social site, POF is severely lacking. POF referring to itself as a dating is simply misrepresentation.

POF is deigned for frustration and uses that angle as a user retention device.

The level of rejection most guys experience on the site is well more than enough to shake your confidence and maybe even cause some mild depression. It didn't affect me too much as it's obvious what POF is doing, so I just moved on. But I;m sure a fair number of guys are affected. I sure some women are as well.

According to some friends there are some quite desirable women with children on the site that has been there quite some time. So it ain't working to well for them either.

I'll say it again ... POF is specifically designed to be self defeating to maximize ad revenue. Don't fall for it.
