We have added a new review for the dating site called How About We.

HowAboutWe.com has been around for a number of years now and approaches online dating in an interesting and unique way. Instead of concentrating mainly on the physical and personality attributes of a member, HowAboutWe.com wants you to find members based on their favorite date ideas. Every date idea starts with “How about we…” hence the name of the site 😉. Basically you are looking for a date based on what you like to do. This process stream lines the online dating experience since it tries to get you offline and dating as soon as possible. Your date is already planned so there is a lot less messaging. Once someone is intrigued with your date idea, all you need to do is agree to go on the date and then figure out when.

10 Things Science Has To Say About Sex And Attraction

Advice

1. Women really do love dogs. Nicolas Guégen and Serge Ciccotti found that a man's likelihood of obtaining a woman's phone number increases three-fold when he's accompanied by a dog.

2. Red is the most attractive color. One experiment found that men asked women dressed in red more personal questions than women dressed in green. Another experiment found that men sat closer to a woman wearing red than a woman wearing blue.

3. Women are attracted to wealth, but not men. Female participants in a study were more interested in a man with an expensive Bentley than a man with a more average car. Male participants showed no difference in how they rated the attractiveness of a woman based on her car.

4. Women love to be kissed on the neck. Next to the mouth, the neck is women's favorite place to be kissed. 96% of women expressed their love of neck kisses in a study, compared to only 10% of men.

5. Women are more likely to fake a climax if they're in love. Apparently faking an orgasm is a sign of love - women who are in love are more likely to fake it, presumably to avoid disappointing the partners they care about so deeply.

6. Casual sex is not indicative of low self-esteem or a bad family life. Contrary to the beliefs of many, women with a higher number of sex partners are definitely not "damaged goods." They show no signs of low self-esteem or challenging childhoods...in fact, men in some situations prioritize women with many sex partners over less experienced women.

7. Cheaters might be identifiable by their faces. An experiment found that humans are better able to recognize the faces of cheaters than non-cheaters, without knowing anything about their sexual history. Cheaters' faces may give off subtle visual cues that make them identifiable.

8. We're all guilty of staring. People tend to look longer at attractive faces than unattractive faces. A beautiful face also distracts us from tasks, causing us to take longer to complete them.

9. Your voice changes around people you're attracted to. A lower-pitched voice is connected to higher states of physical arousal in the presence of someone you're attracted to.

10. Speed dating probably isn't the most effective way to meet your match. Your chances of getting frisky with someone you meet at a speed dating event are only 6%, and your changes of relating to someone are even lower, at only 4% .

The Dating Game Goes Mobile With “The Game”

You enjoy dating.

You enjoy playing games.

Therefore, it stands to reason that you would enjoy playing games about dating, especially if you can do it with your mobile phone.

Angry Birds is out, ladies and gentlemen, and The Game is in.

The Game is a new mobile app for iPhone and Android that promises to inject a little fun back into your love life. Online dating has changed the world, but scrolling through endless profiles on eHarmony or OkCupid gets boring. Enter The Game, which hopes to make the experience of using technology to meet your match a little less formal and a lot more conversational.

Starting is as simple as downloading the app to your device and signing in with your Facebook account. Once you're logged on, you're presented with three potential partners selected by the app based on the demographic and geographic information found in your Facebook profiles. You're immediately encouraged to interact with someone who could turn out to be your next Saturday night date by answering the ice-breaking multiple choice questions that come along with each match.

The more interactions you engage in with other players, the more points you earn. Points can later be redeemed for digital gifts or compliments. Players must continue to interact with new people in order to remain in the game - those who stop conversing with other players risk being kicked out. Those who continue to meet new people and earn more points are rewarded by getting one new potential partner each day. As players become more familiar with each other, they have the option of taking their conversation offline or meeting in person.

The Game creates a safe environment in which to meet people by using Facebook Connect to validate that users are who they say they are. Players are also never given access to each other's' personal information, and are required to have at least 50 Facebook friends (to prove that they have adequate social abilities) before playing the game.

"Our mission at The Game is to make dating fun again," says David Semerad, founder and CEO of The Game. "Dating should be enjoyable, there is no need for it to involve long forms and paperwork and create stress for people who already have busy, interesting lives. With The Game, we wanted to change the online dating model, and inject a large dose of playfulness and engagement."

Addictive Facebook games? Please. Farmville is so 2011. It's all about The Game in 2012.

eHarmony Finds Out How Your Career Affects Your Love Life

It's one of the first questions you answer when joining an online dating site: What's your occupation? It's also one of the first questions you're asked when meeting someone: So what do you do for a living?

We all want to know how our dates pay the bills, and eHarmony knows why.

An eHarmony study looked into how career impacts romance, finding that what you do for a living has - no surprise here - a major impact on what you look for in a partner.

Last year a different study found that the worst careers for romance were personal finance, law enforcement, interactive technology, healthcare, publishing, mental health, optometry, education administration, fitness, aviation, journalism, business ownership, real estate, and law. The trend was clear: the more hours spent at a high-intensity job, the greater negative impact the career has on your love life.

Career addicts striving to achieve work-life balance should look for partners who have very different professions, says the new eHarmony study. Some of the most successful match-ups are:

  • Self-employed women with engineers, female business executives with barbers or hair stylists, stay at home moms with dentists, and female doctors with bankers
  • Unemployed men with personal trainers, male personal trainers with advertisers, male pilots with beauticians, and soldiers with female business executives

Some professions are willing to communicate with matches from all walks of life, while others are more choosy about who they chat with. The most picky daters are:

  • Men who are engineers, analysts, lawyers, web developers, and bankers
  • Women who are marketers, business executives, analysts, lawyers, and teachers

The most flexible daters are:

  • Men who are soldiers, retired, skilled tradesmen, and students
  • Women who are students, skilled tradeswomen, in the food service industry, and in retail sales

The eHarmony study also found that some job combinations are more likely to lead to a date than others. The most successful professional pairings are:

  • Male and female business executives dating each other
  • Male marketers with female business executives
  • Male engineers with female business executives
  • Policemen and firemen with female teachers

The least successful professional pairings are:

  • Retired men with female administrative assistants
  • Male artists with female students
  • Male bankers with female administrative assistants
  • Male doctors with female students

"When it comes to who's talking to who, most people are looking to talk to someone who does something different than themselves," an eHarmony spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

So I guess that's further proof that office romances aren't the way to go.

Why OkCupid Owes Its Success To OkTrends

OkCupid seems to be more and more popular with every year that goes by.

It's young, it's fun, it's hip. It doesn't feel stuffy or impersonal like many of its competitors. It has everything that the tech-savvy, younger generation is looking for in an online dating site.

Sam Yagan, CEO and Co-Founder of the site, says that OkCupid has a strong social media strategy to thank for its success. But unlike other websites, Yagan isn't talking about Facebook or Twitter when he attributes OkCupid's popularity to social media - he's talking about OkTrends, the OkCupid blog.

Readers of this site will be familiar with the OkTrends blog. I used to cover every new post, because they were informative, witty, and visually engaging. Much to my dismay, the blog hasn't been updated since April 19, 2011 - not too long after Match purchased OkCupid - but the posts are still relevant, funny, and surprisingly enlightening.

Yagan told Business Insider that the now-defunct blog contributed to OkCupid's success by producing "great, sharable content." The blog used eye-catching graphs and interesting, sometimes provocative topics to draw in readers. OkTrends always walked the fine line between entertaining and educational, and wasn't afraid of the potentially-controversial topics ("Gay Sex vs. Straight Sex," "How Your Race Affects The Messages You Get," "The Case For An Older Woman") that made their readers so eager to pass the articles on.

"If you read any of our blog posts you'll see almost immediately why this concept would be interesting not just to a single person but really to anyone," says Yagan. OkTrends mastered the art of "producing content that was widely, broadly interesting."

Though it was at the forefront of OkCupid's social media strategy, it wasn't just the blog that made OkCupid a hit. The team behind the site has always been conscious of building a wide audience and targeting potential subscribers who don't initially seem to be likely online daters.

"We target people between the ages of 18 and 80 on OkCupid," Yagan explains. "Because dating is an inherently social process, it's very important to also influence the influencers.... That's why it turned out to be a really great thing for our blog to not just target the single people but also the single people's friends and families."

OkCupid has focused significantly less on the major social networking sites - Facebook and Twitter - than its competitors in the industry. As of September 27th this year, OkCupid had only 18,083 Twitter followers and 12,860 Facebook page likes. Compare that to the OkTrends blog, where each post got upwards of 10,000 (and sometimes over 100,000!) likes or shares on Facebook.

So OkCupid...don't you think it's time to bring the blog back? Please? Pretty please?

We have added a new review to the free dating sites category for the popular Latin site Amor en Linea. This dating site is available in English and Spanish and seems to have at least 12,000 members logged in at any one time.

This dating site is extremely easy to use. While this is a benefit for those of you new to online dating, the service does sacrifice functionality because of this. Still, it has all the basics needed by Latin singles who want to find, communicate and meet up with other singles online. One of the main reasons why this site is so popular in its niche is because it is completely free. Unlike other “free dating sites” there are no paid upgrades since everything the site offers is included in the membership.
