I was wondering, so many "Free" sites seem pretty good untill you try to make cotact with someone. Is there any "free sites" that will let you contact or be contacted by someone? Hopefuly thanks for the help, Glenn

The only one that I know of is: matchdoctor.com.

Not the prettiest layout, but then again it is free.

The only 2 things that I noticed if you paid was that you get a gold member status (your profile is at the top), and that you can view more than 1 picture if the person has more than 1.

I seem to recall houstonconnect.com allows free members to wink at other members. I don't recall whether you had to be a paying member or not to respond.

Of course, this is only good if you're from the Houston area.

Most free dating sites I have found really are just a message base. They usually have a low number of users. I haven't found any sites that offer chat, messaging, etc. like the big site you have to pay for. The sites that do offer chat (like city date mentioned above), etc are just sites with no users. They also plan on charging users once the site reach a certain number of members.

citydate is pretty useless. it's especially heavy on the useless images and graphics. they're obviously trying to make their site look "prettier" and more "professional" than they really are. in reality, any professional web designed will tell you it's run by amateurs. it's funny how they advertise "real people" use their site, yet most of profiles of women are fake profiles w/ photos from adult porn sites and webcam sites. they're sneaky like that.

i critiqued facemeet on another post. facemeet is even worse than citydate. not even worth going into here.

mathdoctor is advertisement city. they like to change the look of their site about every month in hopes of hiding the fact their site is useless on the inside. weak search tools. horrible site navigation. advertisements on every page. fake profiles. takes forever to get a photo approved. these guys are the worst of the worst.

houstonconnect needs to clean up their site. it's too disorganized with links everywhere, useless images, and tedious sign up process. i hate sites that require you fill out your profile when you sign up. search is ok, but can see less than 10 profiles at a time. be prepared to scroll a lot.

chicagomixer, although not great, is prb the best out of the 5 listed here. good search capabilities. very fast page loads and easy to get around and find the things you need quickly. photos get approved within an hour or two. and they make it clear they're a dating site. they're also not a totally free service, so i guess that keeps out the riff raff who aren't serious. but you can reply to emails for free. it's too bad they're only for the chicago crowd. they could probably do well on a national level like match.com or lavalife.

you can also try face2meet they let you find people right down to the area and I found my girlfriend on there :p
