Bumble for Friends, the new standalone app for finding friends from dating app Bumble, has partnered with holiday turkey brand Butterball to bring people together this holiday season.

The new partnership initiative called “Find Your Table” features a series of Friendsgiving events and some resources to help people make new connections ahead of the holiday season. The purpose, according to the joint press release, is to “help people make new connections and discover the joy and ease of gathering with friends and family, over turkey, this holiday season.”

The in-person event launches Thursday, November 2nd at 6:00pm EST in New York City, and will feature friendship coach Danielle Bayard Jackson, No More Lonely Friends founder Marissa Meizz and Dinner with Friends Founder Anita Michaud, along with reps from Butterball, according to the release. They will conduct holiday tastings as well as help to connect people.

There will also be two virtual events co-hosted by Butterball and Michaud on Thursday November 9th and Wednesday November 15 at 8:00pm EST. Attendees will learn how to roast a turkey and get some pro hosting tips so they can create their own holiday table for friends.

Bumble has also added some tips to its app ahead of the holidays to help users make more meaningful connections, as well as providing practical tools for hosting Friendsgiving dinners. These are available through the app’s group chats and planning features.

“Togetherness is our core value at Butterball, and we understand that many people are longing for new and meaningful connections right now,” said Christa Leupen, director of purpose at Butterball. “That’s why we’re so pleased to partner with Bumble For Friends to help people find their table and celebrate the holidays in a way that is authentic to them – helping them express their personality whether they’re gathering with friends or family, neighbors or coworkers, new acquaintances or childhood besties.”

The partnership formed after a Butterball survey found that 20 percent of respondents said they won’t celebrate Thanksgiving this year or will celebrate alone, due to friends and family being far away and the cost of travel. Bumble for Friends surveyed its own users and found a majority of adults (60%) were eager to form new friendships, and among Millennials that rose to 73%.

“While Friendsgiving is traditionally a time to celebrate existing friendships, it’s also the perfect opportunity to meet new people,” said Beth Berger, general manager at Bumble For Friends, in the joint release. “Friendship and bonding with others over shared interests like enjoying a delicious meal are vital parts of our well-being, and this is especially important when navigating the often busy and stressful holiday season.”
