My Transsexual Date, the leading online platform for transgender women and trans oriented men looking for love, is taking its web-based version to a mobile app.

The company announced that its new dating app is in development and will soon be available on both iOS and Android. It will also be connected to the dating website when it rolls out. Once the app is released, it will have the largest user base for trans daters, giving it an edge over other trans dating platforms. Currently, users can sign up online and browse via the website on their desktops or phones, but there hasn’t been a dedicated app.

The company takes security very seriously, with a moderation team that is staffed around the clock to ensure the safety of users and prevent harassment of members. Added to that, My Transsexual Date is working on a new profile verification system where members will have to take a photo or record a video to prove they are real, in order to curb the proliferation of fake profiles – a common issue among online dating platforms.

Dating app Bumble was informed earlier this year that its software had vulnerabilities that could expose the personal information of its 100 million users around the world.

Researchers from Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) found a problem with the app’s API that allowed them to access personal data for all of its users across platforms, including details such as their political leanings, astrological signs, education, height, weight, and even how far away they were in addition to the city they lived in, according to Threatpost. Another problematic issue for Bumble was that the research team was able to bypass the payment process for premium services, effectively accessing them for free.

Dating app Bumble introduced a new update for its “unmatch” feature to help prevent bad actors from trying to hide on the app.

According to Tech Crunch, this new feature is a safety upgrade for users who want to report abusers on the app. Before, it was easy for a user leaving abusive messages to hide from their match by pressing the unmatch option, because the conversation thread would disappear from both users’ message history. This made it harder for people to report abuse on the app – there was no digital trail.

Grindr Password Rest was Hacked

Dating app Grindr discovered a security flaw in its service earlier in October which allowed hackers to easily hijack accounts. The flaw was fixed quickly before anyone’s information was compromised, but the vulnerability caused concern.

The flaw allowed anyone to hijack a user’s account using only an email address. It was discovered by researcher Wassime Bouimadaghene, who reported it to Grindr. Initially, he didn’t hear back according to Tech Crunch, and turned to a security expert for assistance.
