curious
Hi there everyone .... I am wondering about the True.com site. I have posted my profile and apicture to the site and I have received more winks than I could have though possible. Wondering if this is a real site or is the site sending out these winks trying to get me to join and pay the membership fee in order to be able to contact some of these members??? What do you think or have you read anything else about this site??

never have joined true (not cuz of anything bad) but I am on match now and have used date.com ... i would think the big sites wouldn't have to resort to fake emails and winks. one thing you could try is posting the same profile on another big site and see if you get the same results

True.com sucks. It doesn't let you do anything as a free member, and isn't affrodable unless you are Donald Trump or Bill Gates. I think they make fake profiles to send winks, too.

That site has some good features and I actually like their personality and sex tests. I think they were accurate. HOWEVER, you have to be careful when you sign in because they check a box that basically say that they will send winks from your account to women who are a possible match. The wink system is thus automated and once you contact the member, he/she has never sent you a a wink!!! Also, I read a lot of bad stuff about people getting charged though they canceled and it was a real pain to cancel... lots of waiting. I was just a non-paid member and it was easy to cancel my account by mail... since then, no fake wink nottifications... but I heard they can reactive your account... My advice would be to never give your CC to that site... Oh and yeah, I received one email with a yahoo address but I still wait for my answer. All these dating sites have the same problem. I will date real women in the real life. That is not as difficult as it looks.

I've never gotten a wink at any site except true, and there I get dozens despite no picture. Clearly they are fakes.

Suiteer is right, part 5 of filling out your profile at the bottom states Let us help you get started. Based on some of the information you've just given us, we'll introduce you to up to 20 of your closest matches. They then ask with check boxes already checked Who I'm Looking For. Yes, select my best matches and tell them I'm interested in hearing from them. Who's Looking for Me? Yes, select my best matches and tell them I'm interested in hearing from them. Who's Seen My Profile? Yes, show me who's seen my profile and tell them I'm interested in hearing from them. So in way true is not sending out fake winks. People have given there appoval for winks to be sent out. Of course it would be better to have them unchecked and allow people to check them on so the people who are not serious about dating and just rush through a profile don't send out winks they do not care about.

I recently decided to try the free 7 day trial after seeing daily winks to me from many people. I found out when I cancelled that the winks were computer generated by TRUE based on supposed compatibility and other profile matches. I never marked the box on my email options to do this and I winked back at many, but they were not interested, even though they supposedly winked. Then I started getting "wink" backs from people I never approached and were not at all a match based on my profile. The dead give away was that none of them were nearby and none of them were seeking someone my age or even my type. I forgot to cancel on the 8th day and was charge $49.99. The following three days my credit card was charged for $2.99 and then 99 cents twice, for reason unknown to me. As soon as I paid to join, the winks suddenly became few and far between. Not that any of them were really interested people in the 1st place. I cancelled early in my 30 days to stop the nonsense and to stop the daily charges to my credit card. The site is a rip off because they play dishonest games with people and lead you on plus they charge additional fees for mysterious items
