I can report that I have had (great) sex with a real (attractive) woman after being a full member for less than a month. The fact that empty or unattractive unpaid profiles get tons of emails is only slightly relevant. The question that we should care about--and I admit still bothers me--is does the spam continue once you pay? My rule is that for every questionable email I reply to (possibly wasting my time) I send messages to three new women.
Does anyone know how the advanced search results are sorted? It seems to be by some class first and then by activity. What is this first class?
The best filter seems to be trying to move to outside email as soon as possible. I understand the safety concern that this poses for real women but that is easily dealt with by creating a new, more anonymous email address. Any other tips for separating the wheat from the chaff?
I have been testing dating sites for a report for a magazine article and decided to sign up using the photograph of an ape and using ape attributes during the sign up process. Lo and behold, female Sexsearch members have contacted my bogus ape persona over 100 times in just over two months. I have written to the website and told them of my findings. Initially they replied to my message and were appalled that I could be scammed (I had yet to inform them of the ape experiment). When I mentioned that I was a reporter and that a bogus and clearly phony account was created, the next message had the writer appalled at me for doing the experiment. Suffice to say, the site is without a doubt a scam. There are true online dating services out there that do work and do connect people but this one is not one of them and should be avoided at all costs.
P.S. The article will be appearing in SPIN magazine (yes, a music magazine doing a non-music article, how novel) in December's issue.
This is hilarious -- thanks for sharing and I'll try to find the article in SPIN

Everytime I'm on the site I'm deluged with guys wanting to talk to me. I don't believe I've run into a fake one on there yet.
But there are guys I've talked to who say many of the women's profiles are fake or they are escorts.
Anyway, just putting in my two cents. It's been great fun for me!!!

I have met plenty of nice, attractive women from sexsearch.com and even met 2 after just briefly chatting with them on the i.m. feature. No problem here.

Talk about baiting someone to get you to subscribe again. NO THANK YOU! One month at $29.95 was more then enough! I turned off all the settings to stop any more e-mails.
A FOOL AND HIS MONEY IS SOON PARTED! But at least not too much money! Just think that if one million guys paid $29.95, that would be a pretty good profit for this scam outfit!
