I think whether a dating site "works" or not depends on the person using it. That's a fairly obvious statement, but I don't mean any sarcasm by it. I guess my point is that one should really consider which dating sites are right for them as well as the male to female gender ratios on the sites.
As a single girl in my mid-20s living in a large metro area, I actually get tons of messages. I try to respond to most of them but it's not too easy. As for one of my college buddies, who's a dude in a suburb of PA, it hasn't been so easy - and I recommended the same site I'm on. So, I guess it just depends.

I have tried E-harmony, match and POF and all 3 of them were below average for me. I am a 38 year old male who is seriously looking to find somebody where i can settle down. I found Match was effective in the beginning but after a while, the quality of people went down hill. POF and e-harmony are no better. I know for some it has worked but unless you are handsome, caucasian, good looking you don't stand a chance. I also tried a matchmaker by Volt connection here in Southern Ontario. Save your money, she, has good intentions but there is nobody in her database who is compatible with you.

Huh I'm on a site where women message my username and say that they I seen me last night , their friends have recommended me to them and so on .Makes you wonder who is really behind these characters. I put it down to the site owner trying to lure men with such comments to make them pay and respond

My suggestion is Match.com or OKcupid. Dedicate some time on them and you may find a hidden gem. Don’t get discouraged because every site has losers you have to get through. (Trolls).

I wanted to talk about an experience that I just had with an online dating site. Unfortunately, I had been talking with a guy for MONTHS and realized that I had been catfished. Right now, I really think I need to take a break with dating sites, and from dating in general. This whole underground world of chats, and usernames, and the ability to be someone you are not is so confusing and disappointing. If you can't meet a real person in real life, maybe that's just how it's meant to be.

I have friends that have had success with all the major ones like eharmony, match, etc. so that is given me confidence to keep trying. Several of my friends have been in long term relationships and one is engaged. They met a lot of frogs before their princes, though. I hope you have some luck.

Last year I met someone on POF and that relationship lasted for about 6 months.

I've since been taking a break due to Covid.

Before that I had met and had dates and found boyfriends on eharmony and match. I also had some luck on zoosk.

I’m a bro, looking for a nice girl too. I think match.com is worth your time. Give it another try. Dating in general is tough now in the middle of a pandemic. It’s just bad times all around for dating in person.

I'm on this site to find out this exact answer. Can anyone tell me which sites are reputable and are legitimate as of August of 2021? I want to give this process a go, but I don't want to waste time and money on crap sites.

I’m just starting out too and wondering the same. I don’t want to go down a path that I know will be a time and money waster. Someone help us!
