I have been a subscriber to Match in the past and now I re-subscribed. I can't believe the amount of BS profiles and scammers saying they live in the US somewhere, eventually admit to being in Ghana. I can't tolerate scammers, and I work in internet security. I Phish them as they Phish me. It is easy to be fake like them. Say your a millionaire and have money to spend. They will stick to you like leeches, until they get their profiles deleted. Funny thing is, I called Match to report this and the CS rep denied this ever happens. Can't deny fake profiles Match! Anybody can sign up, get pics from internet, and delete the profile after their done. WTF else to those punks have to do? Eat dirt?

Oh boy. I wish I had read this. It sounds too familiar. I met a girl on a dating website and I opened a separate email account to talk to her in gmail. Stupid me, I accidentally used my real name before I realized it. She is from Ghana and is a Swedish/Ghanian heritage and is a professional designer who lives with her mom and brother after the divorce of her parents. She is pretty cute and she hasn't asked me for money or anything. We are just casually chatting but I made it clear that her goals from her website were different from mine and I wasn't going to lead her on. So far it has been fine. I'm not sure what to expect now. It doesn't seem like a scam. I guess I'll keep an eye out on it.

Yep. Sure enough. I reversed searched the pictures she sent me and came up with a totally different person on FB. 'She' used this girls picture. I sent this girl a message telling her what had happened. I deleted my e-mail account but am kicking myself knowing that this person has my real name now. Stupid.

Hey Guys, I don't have to tell my story because I would just be repeating what everyone else has said. The birthdays, father passed away, Mum is in the hospital...etc, etc. DON'T SEND ANY MONEY! They are very beautiful and great to talk to so have fun with it. Here's a good trick I used last night when I got the chat request, mid thirties, Huston, Texas, Right! Ask if they're from Ghana and they will usually tell you yes. Then I was asked if I had chatted with other women from Ghana... answered yes and the chat ended that quick. They have all lost their phone and if they do have one their out of minutes and can't call... so would you send money. Oh, don't use Ghanaairtime big rip off.

I've got a good one from Ghana ongoing at the moment. Came from mate1. Profile says she was from Philedelphia. Turns out she's from Amsterdam but living in Ghana and guess what, training to be a nurse. Also her father was killed in an accident. We've chatted on Skype for a couple of weeks. Very pleasant. Apparently she's real, not like the others. Last night she video called on Skype. Turned out to be pretty explicit. Don't mind that. She can show me whatever she wants. Said it was to show she was real. Odd think was, the sound wasn't working. She was certainly the same girl as in the photos from a very specific tattoo.

And finally today it happened. She wants a Promise Ring to show the honesty in our relationship. But she doesn't want me to send her one, she wants me to send her £100 so she can buy one because it will be quicker. To prove she's even more real, she sent me a copy of her Ghanaian voting card. I'm surprised that overseas nurses on a one year training contract get the opportunity to vote. I'll keep you posted.

Every Ghana Woman I have talked too or seen a pic of are all model like, which, well, raises a red flag with me. Some "fall in love" with me in a matter of minutes.... some take a day or two to "fall in love" with me, and they don't know anything about me (other than the fact that I have a job)! They want money for food stuff (yet none of them look impoverished); they want money for a passport or to purchase a flight ticket; some send emails, and if you play along long enough, the next following shots will show less and less clothing....even to the point of showing their private parts (My, I do believe they are sex models). Those who send emails will wait for you to respond to them before sending another email and more enticing pics). They follow up by saying something like "enough letters...it's time for us to meet."

Moreover, whether by email or by IM, they talk about trust and other values that should be prevalent in everyone and quote the common saying (which I read from many--and I mean many) Ghana women: "unless you have these ingredients, you cannot succeed." WOW!!!! Can any of these women be genuine?

Finally, I have read these responses from other anonymous persons, and I find myself saying to myself, "Some woman tried this with me!" Gold that could be transferred, food stuff, iphones, computers, passports, visas,....you name it! I foolishly sent money for someone to board a plane (This one was from Nigeria), and when I was inquiring why she never got here, she responded that she was robbed)! How foolish I was, for that was hard earned money that I could have used for a vacation. And one more note, they could care less if you are married! Let me end by saying this: I hope this message wakes up anyone who continues to be naïve about scammers. Use your hard-earned money wisely, and quit giving it to those who make dishonest livings! These women love many men (those who are naïve enough to send money to them), so don't be deceived into believing you're their ONLY man!
