There was a regular poster on the POF forum that was not one of the most popular posters, was not one who had a posy of friends to back him up in arguments, he was not one who had a list of enemies but did have a few. He was not afraid to confront people posting falsehoods and fallacies or senseless statements just to provoke others. His username on POF was Bobby Z Man. Most people referred to him simply as Bobby.
Bobby was arguably one of the top knowledgeable and helpful posters with accurate information on the POF forums about the working of the dating site and the forums. Personally, I would say second only to Oto who was undoubtedly the most knowledgeable in those things.
Bobby Z Man also possessed a profound ability for observation as well as a philosophical sense of fairness.
Bobby passed away. I remember it being announced on the POF forums. There were several who posted condolences and expressed sorrow. In some ways it was a surprising few who mentioned him after his passing, and in other ways it was also impressive how many did. Even thought he was a frequent poster, he was not one to carry out an excessive chat with someone.
Bobby typically answered someone’s question and that was it. Occasionally someone would troll him and he would feed the troll and play for a while. Frank and Awsome50man were the most prolific trollers of Bobby Z Man. At least the two I remember.
Why am I gushing on about Bobby Z Man? Bobby clearly won every troll argument usually by turning their own words on them or he didn’t say anything. This infuriated the trolls. He usually ended those trolling spats by putting in a quote something like this… A wise man once wrote that the bigger person in a senseless argument is the next to last one to make their point. So, for now xxxxx, you are the bigger man.”
That wasn’t an exact quote but close enough to get the point. I am curious to see, based on the above Bobby Z Man line, who wins the bigger man award, pulls up their big boy pants, and puts an end to this crap-fest. Cash or El hozel? Or will this thread be closed and settle it for good?

I really don't care about Hopeless one way or the other. I have absolutely no doubt he is a raging Anti-Semite and a bigot, that he is not a nice guy in the least and is the type to frequent hate boards...which is where people of his character congregate, but he really means nothing to me because I never considered him very intelligent and therefore his opinions didn't really bother me.
The two people I recall disliking the most were Jovan and Cotter. Jovan I disliked because I thought his arguments were so disingenuous about Israel, but I also recognized he was highly intelligent and that made his arguments sharper. Cotter of course wanted to see Israel nuked but claimed her best friends were Jewish and thought the same way she did....I thought her a pitiful creature.
I was amused by Mungo Joe, who KJ thinks was a genius. I think Joe was bright, but I didn't see him being anywhere near a genius. I do recall him being perhaps the most sarcastic, mocking poster I have ever seen on a message board anywhere.
As for the dating side of the boards...so much bitterness but lots of good advice too. In the end, I really did not find them very interesting, I suppose because dating and understanding the opposite sex has not been one of my concerns for 34 years now. It was fun tangling with people though, and I will always remember Motown Cowgirl as being worthy of contempt. When somebody recently remarked she was a lawyer, I finally got the full picture about who she was.
Those were the days.
I learned through that there really are two alternative worlds. The real one, the one I live in and the alternative reality world, the one Trump and his supporters live.
Seeing what these people bought into was eye-opening. I mean there is a video of Trump mocking a disabled reporter and yet these people deny it ever happened. They make excuses for doing horrible things to other people. His insults, his firing people left and right because they don't tell him what he wants to hear, his separating babies from their moms and then losing track of where over 500 of the parents are. His destruction of regulations helping to keep our air and water safe. His indecency and his pathological lying. His claiming real news was fake news and fake news, conspiracy theories were real news and on and on and on. Even now I have no doubt these people believe that the election was stolen from Trump.
Eventually I realized that spending too much time arguing with these people was damaging to the Soul, which is why I chose to get away.
The point is these are the people who make up half our country. And these are the people who make up half of the participants on message boards.
That being the case, it is impossible...given the huge chasms between the characters of people and the way people view the world that there are ever going to be smooth sailing on any message boards.
Even the finance boards, where you would think that giving opinions about stocks to buy would be simple...and yet even there people start blasting each other.
Its just the way of the world it seems.
Makes me glad that my wife is not political and does not bother with message boards....Life is far more peaceful that way.
I liked him. A real straight shooter. Sharp as a tack too.
His passing was announced in the Tall thread. Lurker, he and KJ were pretty close if you didn’t know. KJ took the news hard. Her emotions were apparent in her postings for a while after the announcement. If I remember correctly, she said farewell in the Tall thread and then quit posting to it. There were several threads where his passing was talked about but mostly in the Tall thread. I think there were about ten posts then the thread took of on another tangent.
What was really strange though was that Carla also posted about being close to him. But then again, that was Carla posting. She was out of touch with reality.

The funny this is that both threads are headlined by ATA posts.
Unless he can get a few more posters from both sides to join the one person conversation they will, in all likelihood, remain orphan threads.

ATA, admin/moderators are very active in these forums. Quietly in the background.
I have seen their hand in this thread several times. Recently too. That was the reason I posted about a strong possibility that they may re-lock or delete this thread. Luckily, for those who enjoy it, that has not been the case. Yet.

That might help explain your hatred for Israel and Jews, why you targeted me at pof, why you argued on pof the holocaust was a myth, why you misrepresented the contents of the talmud..although there you were brainwashed by the hate sites you read. There is always an underlying basis for a hater like yourself.

My math teacher in college was Palestinian. He told me the Israelis bulldozed his family home. I can understand why he hated Israel.
