ParshipMeet Group Summary

The ParshipMeet Group originally started as just a dating site called Parship and was launched in 2001 in Hamburg Germany to service German speaking singles. Parship experienced success almost right away thanks to using the scientific method to help singles search for a serious relationship. Psychologist Professor Hugo Schmale of the University of Hamburg developed Parship's compatibility test and matching system. By 2002 Parship became international and began accepting members from other countries. In 2005 gayParship launched. Both dating sites as of 2020 are active in 13 countries (with most being in Europe).

Early in 2000 Parship was acquired by Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group who then sold the service in 2015 to Oakley Capital Private Equity. ElitePartner was also acquired and at that point the two businesses where combined to form Parship Elite Group to bring online dating to all of Europe.

In 2018 Parship Elite Group purchased eHarmony and soon after changed their name to Parship Group to better reflect their portfolio of dating services.

In 2020 after purchasing The Meet Group, The Parship Group was renamed to ParshipMeet Group.
