So, what does Luxy have going for it? Well, let's start with self-awareness. Luxy knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn't shy away from it. If that's the kind of dating experience you want, Luxy makes it easy to find. It begins with the aesthetic of the service. From the curving fonts to the black and gold color scheme, it's clearly designed to look expensive and exclusive. It also appears to have a surprisingly robust membership.

Despite the blatant focus on money, free accounts are available. Free members can create a profile by logging in with Facebook, Google (website only), LinkedIn (App only), or signing up with email. After that, new users are to go through a "Vouch" type system. This process filters new users by letting the existing members have the power to decide by voting in or out the new users of the opposite sex based on their profiles' quality. Apart from that, there is a time limit of 24 hours to gain existing member's votes. If you do not gain more than 50% of votes within these 24 hours you will be "Vouch Out" (as apposed to "Vouch In") and unable to use the Luxy services. If this happens, you can continue to use Luxy if you verify your income is over 200K, or by subscribing to a Luxy BLACK membership.

When creating your profile Luxy allows you to add your favorite luxury brands and descriptive “Luxy tags”. Beyond that, it also allows you to fill in your personal info like Orientation, Occupation, Drinking Habits, Ethnicity, Religion, etc. The information the profiles provide doesn't go into the depth of other services who are dedicated to automated matching (like those based on personality traits), but this isn't a place that prioritizes deep compatibility.

Once you're signed up and gone through the vouched process, you can view other profiles under the “Search” tab (or “Browse” on the website). Results can be sorted by a few options. It's minimal unless you paid for the subscription, Luxy BLACK, then you are able to search by location and unlock extensive search filters like "Verified First" and "Highest Income". Interestingly there isn't an option to add profiles to a favorites list. Even when you Like someone in Match you cannot bring up your own Like list (you can view those who have liked you though). If you are interested in someone and want to keep track of them, you will have to send them a message, so they then get listed in the Message section.

Luxy allows you to swipe and start a conversation with someone for free when both of you are a matched (have Liked each other). As is often the case with dating services, communication with any Luxy members (not just your matches) requires a paid membership. The Luxy BLACK subscription comes with this and other perks as well like a VIP emblem on your profile, premium search options, and the ability to view who has Liked your profile. Some features can be purchased for smaller fees, like coins, bundles of roses and profile boosts. Luxy BLACK memberships are on the more expensive end of the spectrum but are worth it if you plan to spend some time using the service.

For an on the go experience, you can use the mobile app. Available for iOS and Android, Luxy's mobile apps offer far more action and options to users. Everything from the website is there, with the welcome addition of several mobile-specific features. Luxy Profiles & Sign Up Process

The dating service Luxy is available as an app on Android and iOS. It can also be accessed through their website at OnLuxy.com. When you join Luxy via the website you can signup using your email address or by connecting your Google or Facebook account. On the app you can signup with your email, Facebook, or LinkedIn account. Here is the information Luxy will request from you when creating an account and profile:

Luxy encourages all users to verify their profiles pictures with a real time selfie. For the selfie you must pose with your face clearly visible showing the same hand gesture as the sample image. Searching

Browse & Search

Called Browse on the website and Search on the app, this is obviously where you want to go if you want to search for members directly. Your search results are presented in a gallery list type format displaying rows up to 3 columns across on the website and 2 on the app. Each result shows the main profile photo along with their name, any Status Emblems (Verified, Subscriber, Star, etc..), Age, Gender, and Location. Tapping on a profile will take you to their full profile.

On the app you can filter your results by Wealthiest (need to be a subscriber or have a 100% complete profile to unlock), Verified (you yourself must have verified your photo to use), Hot, Nearby, Online, and Newest. On the website you only can switch between Hot, Nearby, and Online. Within each main filter you can also filter the results further by Age Range and Gender. Members who subscribe can also filter by Location (i.e. you can bring up matching members from New York) instead of just Nearby.

Match

The Match section shows you one profile card at a time. Cards displayed to you depend on your location, common Tags, and the type of members you have Liked previously. With each profile card displayed, you can scroll down through the profile information and decide if you want to Like (swipe right or tap the Heart button) or Pass (swipe left or tap the X button). If you both end up Liking each other, then you will be notified of the mutual Match. At this point it is a great time to send a message to your new match to further dive into this possible romance. Remember all your matches can message you since it is free for Luxy BASIC members to send messages to their matches.

When viewing each profile card, you can also click or tap on the message button to message them right away (subscribers only) bypassing the whole mutual match process. The Luxy app also allows you to send members Roses. When you click on the Rose button you can send them a free Rose or choose a certain size of bouquet of Roses and spend some of your Luxy Coins. Sending Roses is a great way to show you are really interested in the member.

If you are a subscriber, in the Match section you can also bring up a list of all the members who have already Liked you giving you instant access to the profiles and the ability to Like them back right away (or Pass if you choose).

Just like in Search, you can filter your potential Matches by Gender and specify an Age Range (with Luxy BLACK subscribers also allowing to set the Location).
