I am beginning to think that they are a waste of time since so many sites have the infamous 2-3 replies to entice you to become a member and then it takes an act of God to get your account cancelled when you discover that the 'replies' where nothing but bait to get you to join.

It is so saad since the internet DOES have real possibilities. But at the same time, its too easy just to move on to the next ad if you are really looking becuase the ad you were viewing had a typo in it.

Dating has become as disposible as a plastic container.

A lot of good people are ruled out becuase they can't pass some ;standard' of another person who is probably no better .

The day I meet a perfect woman, I will propose marriage that minute.

I even have an old engagement ring just in case.

But I think the odds are taht I will eveulally pawn the ring and pocket the cash since its not likely that I am going to meet even a half way sane person on the internet.

And its a shame.

I think most of us reading this forum DO want companionship.

I don't. As long as the dating site staff work hard to keep the fake profiles out (ie the porn girls). They need to come up with a "report this user as a fake" button if you get a phony message.
