What has happened to Datingforparents ???

I was a member of DFP for several months at the end of 2009, met some very nice & normal women, ended up in a relationship with one of them.
Finding myself single again this summer (oh well, these things happen !), I registered again only to find the site has changed out of all recognition. Suddenly I am seeing:
(1) Multiple emails from suspiciously attractive women even though my profile was barely filled in
(2) These same "members" then logging in but ignoring my emails
(3) On searching e.g. 30-35 within 20 miles of London, finding duplicates (even sometimes triplicates) of "members" with different registration dates, or 2 or more profiles with the same picture and registration date but subtly different screennames. Compare "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=47477458" and "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=265302768", or "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=255680988" and "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=232334002" or "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=197873925" and "http://www.datingforparents.com/member.profile.php?oid=251527559" to see what I mean....
I have lost faith in the site and cancelled my subscription - it looks like it's turning into another bait & switch scam: such a shame !

I joined DFP last week and have had exactly the same experience as you. I am a youngish looking 45, however, before I even had barely started my profile, I received many messages (which I couldnt read unless I subscribed) from handsome young men in their 20's! Some of the profiles were ricidulous in the extreme. The site also suggested that I had already emailed individuals, which I had not. I received winks from ridiculously incompatible persons as well.
I contacted customer services yesterday but they didnt really admit to what is so obviously as you say, 'bait and switch'. Thank you - I will definately not be subscribing to the site as you have confirmed what I have believed to be the case with this dating site.
