My question is to, the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Regulation, the so-called wonderful consumer affairs people and the Department of Justice where the f*** are you people don't you think you should go after these sites and to shut the goddamn things down?

I admire your optimism in seriously expecting the govt to actually do anything other than sit on their collective "assets" and would like to point out that if the govt actually were to do anything most likely it would be the worst possible "solution" as is typical when govt attempts to solve a problem in recent memory.

A little common sense is called for. We have to be suspicious and when you see a trial type membership and are doing some exploring to see how a site might work out and haven't filled out a profile completely or that wouldn't be interesting enough to be getting attention and you start getting messages from people that are too good to be true or not withing you parameters of who you're seeking, especially withing a few minutes of you getting into the site and you have to pay to do the slightest thing such as answer messages. Unless you really believe that 22 y/o chick that looks like a fashion model really is interested, and i.e. desperate enough to go out with a 50-something guy with a modest income and a huge pot belly, Or women will start sending messages to someone with no profile picture and no or almost no useful information in their profile.

You might find it useful to fill out the profile with incoherent information to see if you get a lot of interest and a bunch of messages. If so it's a good indicator that it's automated with the goal of getting your money.
