ALL these paid sites are 99.9% paid employees who will answer to you virtually immediately you join. They use the same format which is to keep you talking & if you raise the subject of meeting they all have the same answer "I would like to get to know you better" using more subtle words. Remember. You will NEVER TRULY get to know anyone using this online correspondence. One of the BIGGEST GIVEAYAYS is the women on profile. They are virtually all desirable which does NOT happen in real life, where are all the desperate women which are not beautiful, overweight etc, etc, they should be at least five for every beauty. NOTE. Those who run these sites and their employees will be reading these replies & will try and counteract. They ARE here and please be clever enough to see their replies here. Do not waste your money, once the pretty girl has taken you for a "scam ride" they just vanish and you never hear from them again.

This is a very cynical generalization, the only point I will agree on is that most dating and or hook up sites are scam, the reasons why have little or nothing to do with materialist attitudes of some (not all) women. Truth be told there are plenty of materialistic men as well, how many guys out there would date a single mom? If what you said was true then there would not be such a thing as straight male prostitutes, or women going to Thailand on their own. Plenty of women like sex as much, if not more then men, and money doesn't even enter into it.
It is often the refrain of single women, once they enter their early 30s, to remark "Where are all the single men?" The mediocre ones, with a bad attitude, holding out for a Brad Pitt to shower them with money and luxury goods, or the man haters who just what to subjugate men, are going to go away disappointed as even the men who would stoop to the level will eventually tire of it and leave them. Women make up more then 50% of the population, they can't all be married to male models, nor have rich boyfriends, the demographics do not allow it.
The problems with these sites are related to money, but it's the owners whom are responsible for that, fake accounts, bots contacting you, misleading search results. With regard to search results the search on one showed several black women, Hispanic women, as well as profile pictures with palm trees, there are not too many of the above residing in my region.
This is 2019 as I am writing this but POF went down the toilet a number of years ago, first they dumped the "casual encounters" section, they they stopped allowing members to contact each other without a paid membership, just like all the credit card scam sites based in Cyprus, or the Caribbean do. Then as a substitute they posted a page of links to hook up sites, and aside from AFF the other 98% are scam sites full of fake profiles, and bots.
Even with the semi legit sites they only stand a chance of working if people log in and check their accounts regularly. On several sites I search for people in my area, and there just are not many people in my area, let alone active users. Dead accounts abound, A.F.F actually shows how many days, or months, since someone logged in, up to a point, then it just says "Over XX months", I would say that about 2/3 of the accounts have been inactive for at least two months or more. I think what happens is that people join, and play with it for a short while, then they don't find someone in their area, or at least active in the area, or hit the pay wall, and then loose interest, and not log on again. I'm guilty of this myself, on these sites it's difficult for two people to meet, even if it were all free.

I agree most sites are fake. But I did manage to get a few sex dates after joining a few. Yes it took time but I met 3 women off one site “come dogging”. 7 on various other paid sites. 2 on Bumble and 6 on POF which were free. Pay your money take your chance. But in the long run I would say save your money.

The companies that own many of these 'adult' dating sites employ women to reply to messages from men. My friend does this job, working from home. The guys are paying £1 per message thinking that they're chatting to a genuine woman without realising it's a scam. If the guy asks to swap numbers or go on a date with this woman she will always make an excuse, even after months of messaging. 'I need more time/get to know you better/I'm busy at the moment' are the usual excuses. Basically, every message you get from this woman is actually coming from different people every single time - all paid employees.

I have to say I’m currently ashamed and embarrassed to be a woman these days. My own gender (men now too though) has set us back decades with this behavior. Just to make a buck because you’re to lazy to go out and get an education or work like a real woman should. YOU'RE THE REASON THE AIDS AND STD RATE HAS SKYROCKETED, and HUMAN TRAFFICKING. Bravo, god forbid you apply for the plethora of free rides our govt offers to better yourselves.
