Absolutely correct. I joined it and paid a lot of money for one month to try it. I met one person that I'm still in contact with as a friend. However, I was totally disappointed in it. He said the same thing. I kept getting matches with no photos and ones that expired. You have no way of knowing if that person canceled his/hr subscription. I found it to be frustrating. Also, I have to agree that all the matches they sent me were way too far away. Did not make sense to me especially when they ask you what you are looking for and how far away you would consider. I don't think I would rejoin ever.

I don't know anything about this site, and only joined Match.com several years ago, when it was "the site" to go to.

But I never met anyone more than just the initial meeting. I'm very in touch with where I am, and I'm not perfect and find that a lot of people who go on line think they have lots and lots of choices (esp men, sorry guys....but true). So they seem to have very high criteria and think they can just keep looking and looking and looking...............that was my experience.

I'm trying Craigs list, although I have reviewed it and haven't liked a lot of what I have read, at least it's FREE and there's no access issues.

I've heard this about a few sites.
I used to be in sales/marketing/bus development and I can tell you that it's all about revenue. I don't think they mean to match you with people not "geographically desirable", but they probably don't have anyone in your close proximity, with so many more sites popping up for internet dating. They are all over the place.

I'm thinking of match.com or matchmaker.com

I do think you have to evaluate the number of enrollees they have in your area. It's critical.

I just met someone wonderful, "the old fashioned" way or through someone, unfortunately he's still not recovered from an old relationship, but we really hit it off. So I think getting out there and just going to events and stuff and asking friends, etc can be the best way.
