Yes, of course, choose to surround yourself with successful people in the area/s you want to be successful in. This is not to say dump your other friends or family members, but perhaps limit the amount of negativity that goes on around you, or even the most positive person will be dragged down.

However we also need to learn how to be in a relationship. Even if you have a degree in teaching or child psychology, this doesn't necessarily transfer your own relationship skills to the adult zone! Places that offer courses or mentoring are your place of worship, eg church or synagogue, your work (great employers offer courses for couples and parenting), even some MLM companies like Amway offer support and training in this area, perhaps your govenrment offers at least phone advice. Then there are the great programs after the disaster, such as AA, which is brilliant for people to accept responsibility rather than blame others or live in denial.

Choose to live the best life you can. Learn how to be the right partner. I remember seeing an ABC documentary called - 'Secrets to Love' - it was so inspirational. Various couples were so in love then not - so dysfunctional - affairs, substance abuse... but no the 'so in love' was after these trials, when they had accepted responsibility and chose to learn how to be in relationship. Restoring broken relationships is possible when both partners choose!
