Who are the big 3 TV ad spenders in the online dating industry? According to Nielsen, in the first 3 quarters of 2008 (the latest data available) eHarmony spend more than $93 million. Match.com came in second place with less than half at $45 million and Chemistry was 3rd with $28 million. For the same 3 quarters in 2007 eHarmony spent $79 million, Match.com spent $51 million and Chemistry spent $12 million.

In 2007 a total of $141.8 million was spent on network and cable TV commercials by online dating sites. It is estimated about $193 million was spent in total advertising in 2007 by these sites. Since 2003 ad spending by the dating industry has increased every year.
