It is October so time to start setting up the 17^th annual Dating Sites Reviews Choice Awards.

The 2024 Single's Choice Award poll launched today and is now accepting votes. As in previous years the poll asks the voter to select from a list of the top 10 most popular dating services in North America in which they would recommend.

The Single's Choice Award, which is awarded on Valentine’s Day, takes the results of the poll to determine the top 3 dating services as voted on by our visitors. Awarded services are marked as such on Dating Sites Reviews and is used by our visitors in the coming year to help them determine which dating service(s) they want to try out.

This is a summary of the awards and their recipients for the 16^th annual Dating Sites Reviews Choice Awards. These awards honor the best dating apps and sites of 2023 in 11 different categories and were handed out starting this new year in January and continued through to February 14^th (Valentines Day). The dating services listed below are the ones worth checking out in 2023 for those interesting in participating in online dating to find a partner.

Our top award is the Single's Choice Award which is decided by our readers. To participate all you had to do was cast a vote in our poll which ran from October 1^st 2022 until December 31^st 2022. The poll asks you to recommend your choice for the top dating service (app and/or site) from a selection of the ten leading dating services on the internet which we have an editorial review for. The top three dating services who receives the most votes will be the recipient of a Gold, Silver, and Bronze award. This year the poll saw 280 votes cast and with all dating services except 1, receive between 20 (7%) and 39 (14%) votes making it a really race when compared to previous years.

The Gold Single's Choice Award recipient for 2023 is Plenty of Fish. With almost 14 percent of the vote, POF still remains at the top of peoples minds for dating, especially those 35 years and older. With unique marketing campaigns and a brand refresh along with a website and app redesign this past year, keeps the dating service relevant and current among its users. This year, POF also picked up the Top Pick Overall and Top Pick Paid Awards.

Recipient Tinder

The recipient of the 2023 Silver Single's Choice Award is Tinder. With just under 13% of the vote, Tinder moves to second place when compared to last year. This app is most popular with young adults and still remains current due to the constant updates to features it receives. With the strong showing during the pandemic, Tinder has experienced flat market growth this year due to dating app fatigue which has been reported in studies of their primary target audience.

Recipient Bumble

The recipient of the 2023 Bronze Single's Choice Award is Bumble. With 12 percent of the vote, Bumble only received 3 less votes than the Silver Award making it a very close race. This 2023 Top Pick Innovative Award winner continued to push for woman's rights on many topics and continues to give them control over dating and communication which continues to strike a chord with it users. Bumble now has over 40 million active monthly users.

The Gold Single's Choice Award recipient for 2022 is Tinder. This dating service continues to release features like Tinder Explorer that keep users on the dating platform and communicating with each other. Other social features include entertainment productions like Swipe Night 2 which is a choose your own adventure type video. Tinder has kept innovating even during the pandemic and have kept users not only engaged but recommending their service to friends.

Recipient POF

The recipient of the 2022 Silver Single's Choice Award is POF. Being the editors pick for Top Overall and Free awards winner is a strong indication we would see Plenty of Fish being one of the top 3 dating services voted on by our visitors. It's freemium model ensures a lot of singles will use this dating services thanks to being able to not only create a profile and search for members, but communicate via messaging with members as well.

The recipient of the 2022 Bronze Single's Choice Award is eHarmony. This Top Pick Paid award winner dating service has an excellent selection of features and a strong matching algorithm that singles trust. This service is popular with singles who are 40 and older and rather be matched to other members who are serious about finding a long term relationship.

Once again thanks in part to the pandemic online dating users continue to increase in numbers. In the previous year we saw a lot of dating services add in video chatting to help singles meet at least virtual. This year we didn't get nearly as many new features. Instead most online dating companies have seen their services mature to the point of new features not really affecting how many new users join. Instead these companies are now concentrating on markets outside of North America and Europe to increase revenue. China and India with their huge populations are where the money is at. While the profit per user is lower in these countries, the larger market more than makes up for it.

The 2022 Dating Sites Reviews Single's Choice Award poll went online October 1^st, 2021 and closed for voting on December 31^st, 2021. In 3 months, 338 visitors took time and cast their vote in the poll. This is on par when compared to last year but down by over 20% when compared to the last 5. It is much harder for new dating services to make a dent in the market now thanks to the established brands and their recognition. The only time people consider trying a new dating service is when they have already tried the popular brands and are not seeing the results they like.

The recipient for the 2021 Editor's Top Pick - Over All award is Plenty of Fish. With over 50 million app installs on Android phones alone (which means it probably is 100 millions installs if you include Apple who has over a 50% market share in North America) this dating service offers an easy and free way to search and message singles. Tinder may have more app installs but you can only message singles on that app for free if you are a mutual match. Plus POF also has one of the highest app ratings for any of the popular dating apps including Tinder (Apple users give it a 4.2 out of 5).
