Summary of dating sites

This is based on my experiences from the last two years and I can only talk about the women because I'm not searching for guys.

What types of women inhabit these sites?

1) Some are surely not women but guys out to have fun by tricking other guys. Others are girls that are out to do the same thing.

2) Some of the “women use pictures of famous actresses and models on their profiles usually: Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Nicole Smith, Sophie Marceau, Monica Bellucci, and Mandy Moore. I often write to the site’s administration to have these profiles removed so that those of us that are actually looking for a relationship don’t have to wade through all of the assholes.

3) There is a huge proportion of Russian/Ukranian women listed on the various sites. Also, worthy of note is the fact that almost every Russian woman’s photo is professional quality and that there are many web sites devoted to getting Russian brides. Love or green cards, you be the judge.

4) There is also a large proportion of materialistic women who only want men that are 6'+, pull down six figures a year, and have raging muscles. They often don’t even mention character traits or personalities.

5) Going along this vein are an over abundance of conceded girls wanting perfect men. These women are apparently perfect. They have no flaws and are willing to tell you so. They also seek only the best because “they are entitled to it or are “worth it or “have earned it. It’s good to have positive self-esteem but they really come off as conceded *censored*es for lack of a better term.

6) There are also duplicate profiles with different women’s photos. These most often seem to be from the Russian women. There are also duplicate photos w/ different profiles which seem mostly to be the same person but trying new strategies on getting their ideal match.

7) Finally, there are real women who aren’t afraid to post their own photos or tell you their correct weight. They tell you their weaknesses along with their strengths. I admire them for using these sites in the way they are intended. Relationships should never be started on a foundation of dishonesty or selfishness.

Many of the women’s profiles lack anything creative or interesting or unique. They were all the same cookie-cutter answers. Yet, they all say they expect their men to be creative and funny. Is this to make up for their lack of humor and creativity?

I’m not a male model by any means but my photo on hotornot has been consistently rated as 8.0 out of 10 after over 400 votes (none by me but thanks for asking). Yet, many never respond back to me after I posted my photo. I found myself fitting some women’s criteria perfectly yet they never wrote back to me. Yet, day after day, week after week, they are back on the sites trolling for a man.

Strange stuff, eh?

I think you hit the nail on the head.
#3 is absolutely correct. I have noticed the same. Some speak better English than most of us. You will notice that these women are just a front for some business that wants $5000 to get the introduction and stuff. No thanks! I know there are plenty of quality American women out there, just haven't found them yet.

Also, if you notice, those women who seek the "perfect" man... they're still looking!

Only used match.com. Sent over 600 plus e mails and only a few responded. After reading the forums on this site, I suspect the women are just a handfull since so many write 'love to laugh or have fun' and there is no originality to ad.

When I posted my free profile, I did get a couple of responses that I figure were to get me to join. I joined since this was the only site that takes a personal check.

This is supposed to be the largest site but acording to the Dallas Morning News, it laid off 30 per cent of its staff in November, 2004.

I used to use an alternative newspaper in Dallas called the Dallas Observer which only had print ads and did this from 1982 to about 1998. I had several long term relationships and did get married through this. The ads were initially paid by the advetiser and the person responding only had to send a letter (pre computer days) but this was MUCH better since I got a real photo and sometimes nice stationary and once in a while it was perfumed!.

So bring back those types of ads and dumpt the computer crap which are mostly scams.

Too bad since a LOT of men and women ARE lonly and just want to meet someone decent.

I also tried several sites. I had an honest and original profile. I'm a woman in 40s who rides a Harley, sings opera, conducts church choirs and until recently was working in a Data Center at a respectable job for 15 years. Never married, no children. The first weekend, I got over 1000 hits on my web counter and no email because I wasn't looking for any casual hookups. Weird attitudes do not seem to be limited to any particular sex and the websites are only interested in getting more cash out of their customers, not necessarily in matching anyone. My personal opinion for what it is worth.

You know, I finally got tired of all of the scams on the various dating websites. Nothing is as it should be and nothing is real. I now just got to redbook.com and hire a professional when I'm in need. The reality is that after you factor in all the time you spend answering ads and rrsponding to fake people, it's way more than worth it to shell out $200 per hour for a womans time.
