Stealing a Boyfriend
Confused
Anonymous
I'm in my third year at college and at the beginning of this school year I met this cute guy. We share a number of classes and I see him a number of times throughout the day. I have never talked to him so last week I decided too.
We hit it off right away and talked about many things. He called me his best friend and we told each other personal things that made me think we have a special connection. I started to develop a real crush for him so I asked if he had a girlfriend. He said he did but they had just started seeing each other last month.
In the last few days he has become extra flirty with me via texts. I got a little frustrated with him and I decided to tell him that I find him cute and exciting and I wish that he didn’t have a girlfriend. He told me he had a crush on me as well and that he was considering breaking up with his girlfriend.
This isn’t exactly how I want the relationship to start by stealing someone’s boyfriend. I feel guilty but I am excited by the idea. I have heard a few things about his girlfriend and none of them have been good. He deserves someone better.
Can you have a healthy relationship after stealing someone’s boyfriend? Should I try to push him into breaking up or should I wait to see how things turn out?

I think you should just wait and see what he does. It will say a lot about his character on how he handles this. You also have to watch out for him saying that he has dumped his girlfriend but, he never actually followed through with it. He could be planning that you are just going to be his girl on the side. If you do end up together try to meet his parents as soon as possible. If this happens then you know you are the only one.
You may be excited by the prospect of stealing someone’s boyfriend but I am glad to see you feel guilty about it. You never want to be the other women. It never works out and you will always be wondering if he will eventually cheat on you. Trust me I know, I have been there.
