Has anyone here ever signed up for a location-based mobile dating site (ex. Skout, meetMoi, Grindr)? Or maybe you’ve tried out one of the new iPhone or Android apps from an already established online dating site like Plenty of Fish or OkCupid?

I'm a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania currently recruiting participants for a study that explores how people use location-based mobile dating services to find dating partners. If you've tried mobile dating and would be willing to complete an online survey about your experiences, I'd really appreciate it. Participation is anonymous.

If for some reason you're not available for the survey, but would like to post your thoughts below by adding to the thread, that'd be great too. Basically I'm interested in how you use mobile dating apps, what kinds of encounters you're looking for, what kinds of encounters you've actually had, and how you would compare your mobile dating experiences to your 'traditional' online dating experiences.
