I am a 50 year old white male. Created a profile on AM expressing my desire to meet a woman, treat her with respect, develop a relationship, get to know each other, take it slow, etc. Didn't spend any $. Result after one month...not even a single "view". And damn, did I work hard on that profile, refining it almost daily to make sure it sounded sincere, focused on her feelings and not mine, etc. I am the only person who will ever read this particular literary masterpiece.

Created a 2nd female profile...50 years old, white, 5'5", 140 lbs. Checked a few of the more innocent sounding boxes...Likes to Go Slow, Kissing, Cuddling & Hugging, etc. No paragraphs to describe myself or my desires, just a couple of check boxes. Result after 72 hours...41 views, 13 winks, 9 keys to view private photos (a couple risque, most very innocent), 15 inbox messages (8 of which say 'You Have and Admirer!' in the subject line), and 1 'priority mail' which automatically creates a reply to the sender after you have opened.

So the only possible conclusions:
1. There are WAY more men than available women on the site (let's say 100:1 at a minimum in my age group).
2. I really don't think there are any fake woman on the site. Otherwise my male profile should have drawn at least a few 'phishing' messages trying to lure me into buying one of the packages
3. AM is about MANY males hunting for very FEW females.
4. Most of the 'cock hungry' women on the site are looking for a 3rd wheel to do it while their husbands watch...yuck!
5. Don't waste your time or $ looking for a quick one nite stand...not gonna happen on AM.
6. If you are a married 'regular guy' looking for a married 'regular girl' to have an NSA FWB affair...you are wasting your time and $.

Hmm very interesting comment... (AM? Which site is that? ) I am a female, 48 years old and have experienced exactly the opposite! I find that dating sites, which cater to the over 50 crowd have a predominantly female clientele. I have tried lavalife prime, 50plus Club and some others and was even contacted by women!! (for friendship and sometimes "possibly more"Wink but very little or no response from men. In case if you are wondering I did post a photo and stated precisely in my description what I am looking for. What are your experiences?

I am thinking of taking a dip into the world of online dating again. Any recommendations ?

I realize this is an older thread, but I echo "MrMarried's" statements. Especially, way too many men, not enough women. Maybe the specialized sites like "Susan" recommends but not the mainstream ones, like AM. My account on AM was pay, all I had were trolls (website employees) try and contact me and try and get me to spend money.
