I have joined about 5 just for the heck of it. I am not going to become a member since this is nothing but a rip off now.

At one time, some of these site were legit and I DID meet women and had some quick flings with a few.

About 2 years ago, I posted the following

Retired at 45

on match.com.

I got about 400 hits. I think they had a counter of how many times you were viewed.

I recently ran the same headline and basically the same ad and I got maybe 10 hits.

So I figure either matchcom was more aggressive about sending out your profiles to new members and they just looked at the profile, did not like what they saw but it still counted as a hit.

Now I don't even get that much.

And these days there are dozens of dating sites that are 'free' unless you want to get replies or whatever their scam is.

And I agree with people that say its a rip off that a member pays and then a person has to pay just to write you or you can't just put your e mail in the letter to a prosective date.

What a racket. Like the ones advertising Russian brides.

At one time, internet dating did work to a degree and it is definately a numbers game.

But a person (a man) should not have to send out a 100 e mails just to get a luke warm reply.

I would have beter success sending out resumes to comaines if I was looking for work.

It is way past time for the small sites fold up and die. I don't beleive in momoploies but in terms of internet dating, it is the only way that its going to work.

And everything else is either consloidating or going out of business right and left.

So I hope the internet does clean up its act even if I don't use it.

I did have a LOT of god times and did things and learned things from women that I have met that have enriched my life and in some cases those around me.

So I don't want all sites to dies and may matchcom win.

Just get all the mom and pop ones off because no one is using them anyway and paying for a membership with a thousand guys and two women.
