BigChurch.com - Pretty Good Overall
A religious based dating site - advantage to some, like me, reason to avoid for others.
I have a "Standard" membership with BigChurch. That is the free membership. You can pay for upgrade to silver or gold and get more functionality.
As a standard member, I was encouraged at first. There were a lot of members and many in my area. Even though I could not send an email, I could browse and wink at members and visit the forums. But after being a member for maybe 6 months, I began to see the "Upgrade to Gold/Silver" page more and more often as I was visiting the website. Now I can only view one or two member profiles a day, and after that I get the upgrade page. This pushy approach is rather annoying.
That said, BigCurch has a lot of great features that even a Standard member can access. They have a bible search on the home page. I love that!
They also have two different areas - dating and friendship. They are almost a duplicate of each other, but different in some ways. You can browse members from both areas. The friend network has a network feature so you can invite people to join your network and share emails and photo albums with them.
The website has pretty good chat rooms, IM feature, a magazine section that has articles posted by members.
There is a personality test you can take that also tells you how you would match up with another member.
You can get a Cupid Report email list of matches "New eager singles want to meet you!"
There are a lot more features than I have listed here, enough even to keep a Standard member occupied.
I have received and sent a fair amount of winks and received a few emails, made a friendship with one very nice guy. Seems to be more down-to-earth real people on this website than some others. So, even with the limits of the Standard membership, I still think it is worth my while to stay a member of this site and I would recommend it to others.
