How does snoring affect your relationship?

I am one those ture, cliniclally diganosed insomniacs. I wich that I could sleep anywhere but since my mid thirties, I can't sleep (unless I am utterly tired) unless I have absolute quite. I even turn on the A/C fan moter even in the coldest days of winter to drwon out the noise and have a machine that generates white noise that I use dtogehter and this woirks fine as long as AI am alone when its time to sleep.
I have not slept (literally) with a woman in years and that included my wife (now ex wife and this did have a major part in ending the marriage which I understand but she knew of my sleep problems and pressured me to get married).
Anyone care to respond how snoring affects you?

Snoring can put a big stress on a relationship. I snore enough that my last girl friend ended up wearing ear plugs. It was so frustrating for the both of us. I didn't want to snore but I had absolutly no control over it. It's alsways a fear I have when I start dating a new girl.

I've slept on my x-boyfriends couch hundreds of times, never could live that way for long. I hope my next one has a seperate room with a decent bed! I also think it's due to his weight gain, the snoring was getting worse with the pounds. I hated earplugs, they made my ears hurt the next day. Imagine that day after day...I hope you can go to a dr. to get some help.

I was not saying that I snore. On the contrary, I have been told that I do NOT snore. However my ex wife (one of the reasons she is my ex) is the fact that she snored like a hog. A doctor told me that the more overweith a person is and the more fat around the neck, the more likely that person is to snore.
I did spend one and only one night with a woman who was full figured. Not heavy and not light or even proportinately correct and she snored so loud that I had to move to the living room and got little sleep. She was the last one before I met my wife. She was heavy and snored more than I like but I somehow got used to it. However, after we got married, she packed on the pounds and snored like crazy. I had to sleep in another room.
I used to read Dear Abby and once in a while, she had letters from people who's significan other snored to much. I remember one woman slept in the bedroom closet! Whe said that she would lay there until her husband went to sleep and go to her 'room'. She even had a TV in there.
Sometimes when I wonder if I rally want to get back into the dating world , I think how nice it is to be able to just go home and get some sleep.
My ex sife did have an operation that was suppposed to reduce or eliminate her snoring. Worked for a short while .
Now, if I wind up in bed with a woman, I tell her that I don't sleep with anyone as one of my dating 'rules'. I have yet to have one complain and I think they are releived that I don't stay just incase I snore.
And don't waste your money on those nose patches or drops. They don't work.
The best thing is to lose weight.

If you snore loudly, get tested for sleep apnea... I didn't know about this problem until I got married then heard complaints from the wife, got tested, then had a septoplasty which eliminated most of the problem. Even if you're slightly overweight (ie. 29% body fat), losing some would help. Sleep apnea can kill.
