somebody in my building asked me today why i even bother with amoredate when there's plenty of women right here in this town. didnt really have a good answer for him in the moment just kind of shrugged it off, and now i'm sitting here a few hours later still annoyed at myself for not saying something better
honest answer is the pool here is just small at my age. i'm 55 divorced going on four years now, and most of the women i know locally are either remarried already or just not looking to start anything again, cant really blame them either way.

ive lived in this town over 20 years so i pretty much know everybody already, theres nobody "new" left to meet just walking around. amordate just opens things up a bit more, thats really all it is, dont know why that felt hard to explain standing in the hallway like that

55 and starting over after a split isn't some small thing either. Been using one of those location based apps for a while, Tinder I think it was, but same faces every time, this town's just too small for that. Only just installed Amoredate, gonna give it an actual shot before I judge it

Honey I'm gonna say this with love, you don't owe anybody an explanation for how you spend your evenings. That said, I've been on Amoredate for a bit now and it's held up better than the couple sites I was on before it, which had me ready to swear off the whole thing entirely. Not saying it's perfect, plenty of quiet stretches in there, but I haven't had any of the sketchy nonsense I was dealing with before. Small town or big city, the pool gets small at our age, that's just the truth.

Your neighbor's never had to actually think about it, thats why he shrugged. Small town math is real. Im in a town under 4000 been on Amoredate a couple months, and the whole point was the same as yours, everyone local is either married or grew up two houses down from me. Sign up was quick, no complaints so far. Legit option for small town guys our age, thats really all it is.
