Hi, around a year I made the mistake of signing up to a dating site called sugarmummy.dating with a membership. Not long after they terminated my account with absolutely zero warning or contact. Since then I have received numerous emails and even letters to my house saying I will be taken to court for not paying them. It started off with them charging absurd amounts of money from my card, so I cancelled it and procured a new one. The emails are from collection@auerwittethiel.com somewhere overseas (I am in Australia). The emails seem to be getting progressively more threatening of legal action taken by solicitors against me and asking me to transfer an amount of money (EUR) that keeps changing and doesn't actually convert to the amount they are saying it will.

Date4friend AG own the website. I haven't talked to a lawyer at all, I'm scared my now partner will resent me if she finds out.

Can they actually take me to court even though it's international... and after they scammed me?

Please help me, I need advice. What do I do?

Hello, I see your message and your problem is almost similar to mine, I registered on a page in early December managed by date4friend but I was lucky that I did not complete my payment for the VIP membership now since January I have these German lawyers asking me for money and threatening taking me to court but I only receive emails I think it's a scam they know they can't go to court because they lose out to scammers I have been harassing me for 4 months and they always set deadlines or take me to court I'm waiting for them to Take them to court if they can. How long have you been receiving these letters?

Has anything come of this? Did you end up nedleding to take legal action or did the problem solve itself (go away)?

Honestly; i'm worried too. i got the email and i've been continously recieving emails. even when i've emailed the customer service team to remove me from VIP and my account after i forgot to pay for 2 months. i already paid and emailed them. not once, not twice, but three times and they have made some excuse or didn't reply to me at all.

i'm getting nervous because i don't wanna go to court over this and i've recieve three emails and have had a letter be sent to my house and i live with my parents now.

It's a scam. They have been emailing me for over 15 months now. They aren't licensed to collect debt in the uk where i live. They probably are not licensed to collect debt in Australia either. And the email address they give is fake too if you google the name of the solicitors there is a real one with the email address spelt in german. All the websites they own are fake scam sites you cannot cancel the subscription just to threaten people with court in the hope they pay. They even sent a letter to my home but I just ignored and still a year after nothing

After 18 months they stopped asking me for money. I also read online the site has been shut down due to them being scammers. No matter what they say don't pay the are not going to take anyone to court
