POF Conversation powers/glyphs

Please someone tell me how to turn off the conversation powers/glyphs feature.

I try to compose a message and the screen tries to capitalize every letter, has flashing words and in general makes it hard to compose a normal message. It is not a welcome feature.

I have spent a couple days searching how to stop this and cannot find out how.
