I haven't heard of any problems with ChristianMingle. Unfortunately all popular dating sites have a certain number of scammers. Avoid people you are unsure of and make sure you report them to the dating site, so no one else can possibly get scammed.
General Rules to detect Scammers
1. They have requested money or banking information.
2. They are currently out of the Country and need help.
3. Their profile and messages have bad spelling and grammar.
4. Your gut feeling is telling you something is not right.
See this story about someone who was scammed on eHarmony: One Womans Trouble with an Internet Dating Scam

'she" listed her city as "New York".
I reported this individual immediately to their webmaster. Then I canceled my subscription.
Oh, by the way, if you sign up for (1) month on ChristianMingle; and don't cancel your membership at the end of the month, your credit card will automatically be billed for the second month. Good luck trying to get that money back.
I also think that they have women that I call "ringers": beautiful, intelligent, successful. These women will send cards with very little written content. One example is a "woman" who goes by the name of Fuschiapink". She has all of the qualities you would want in a woman; and she has been on the site for over 1 1/2 years! Either she is searching for Mr. Perfect, or she is a "ringer" paid by ChrstianMingle to string along all the lonely men who are seeking true companionship. I tend to believe she is the latter. How many other "ringers" do they and other dating services have out there?

That's interesting! I was a member of ChristianMingle; and I was also contacted from a "woman" (it may have been a man for all I know) from Ghana. When I checked on her profile
'she" listed her city as "New York".

I don't know how all this responding goes but here goes: I was looking for info. on Christianmingle because I was considering on buying a one month membership. I had been wanting to buy this membership but hesitant because the disclosure said that your card will be automatically billed on your renewal date, I thought well I don't like that, especialy if I only ask for one month.
Anyhow I agree about the ringers from this guy above, I have seen pictures of guys who look like they came straight out of a magazine and then when you read their Bio their perfect, it seems to be all about "you" i.e. ...I will love you forever...I will never cheat...you will be the one I cherish...I thought to myself isn't that a little much for not even knowing who I am? Non the less it all sounded foolish.
I do think there are honest people on there but I hate when a company uses manipulation. When I tried to put in my post about not having a membership after the review of my post I would review it and there would be nothing in it that says I don't have a membership, that's manipulation for sure! It's suppose to be a Christian site...obviously they owners and there of worship other gods.
OH yah one more thing...I loaded some money onto my paypal acct cause on Cmingle it says that's what they will accept but when you go to paypal on Cmingle it sends you back to must have a credit card...I'm like huh?...
I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with scams on ChristianMingle .com

Same thing happened to me. The emails arrived as if the ladies lived in the States. Once you start talking to the porported ladies, they turned to be in Ghana. Christian Mingle should not allowed this to happen. The one I talked to for about a month, turned to be a scammer from Accra, Ghana. This guy ( the scammer) has a whole ring of helpers to make it appear as if it is real. The purported lady had a whole bunch of medical problems and needs. It was all about money. Christian M. should not allow this people to infiltrate the system and act with impunity.

If I were you, I would not play around with anyone from out of the country. Everyone wants to come here and live here. You have way to much correspondence way to quickly. If you really want to play it smart... do a background check. On all of them. Even the pastor. No title is real unless you can verify that it is. So, consider all of the a fabrication until you have HARD evidence.
Good Luck

EVERY relational web-site has it's faults, decievers, scammers, and the immature. EVERY relational web site could be ran better and wiser and more member friendly. Christian Mingle changed hands and is ran by those who probably own dozens of single sites by now. They are in it to make money !! Nothing more and nothing less. But I would do it all over again and spend the $500 that I did for the chance to connect with the GOOD, HONEST, WONDERFUL, PEOPLE that I DID find. Without hesitation.
Those from Ghana were the standard joke we all made fun of in the chat rooms and message boards. But we did not let a few rotten ones spoil the fun, laughter, friendship, and conversation of those we had learned to know and trust over time.

Let's be careful on blaming these scams on a specific nationality. These scammers just might be residing right next to you, acting dumb and pretending to be from Africa or whatnot.
Let's just be careful next time on dealing with other people on the web and even trusting them with our money. It's better to date via webcam than emailing them, because you got to see the real person you're dealing with.
