Meeting a girl on Facebook

Hi,
A girl I have never met recently added me as a Facebook friend. Our connection is that we have a couple of mutual friends. We have chatted twice through Facebook. The conversation is mostly small stuff like what school do you go to, and how do you know or mutual friend Mike. She also had a few photos online that had her dog in them which we also talked about.
She seems really nice and she is defiantly my type in the looks department. In real life if I had met this girl at a party or something and things were going smoothly I would make my move and ask her out. The problem is online you haven’t got the body language to tell if things are going well or if she is just being polite. I also have no idea if there is any real chemistry.
Would it be a bit forward of me to ask her out for coffee now? I don’t really know a lot about her so should I try to meet up with her in real life or should I continue to talk to her online and get to know her better?
I over analyze things I find when chatting online. I think I am much better at talking in person since you can read the other person’s body language.

Being a girl myself and one that uses Facebook every day I have run into this situation a few times. If you feel she will be receptive to it I would ask for her phone number so you can text or call her. Calling her maybe better in your case since you mentioned that you are much better at talking and at least you can get a feel of her through her voice. Once you are talking to her you can then ask her out on that coffee date.

She friended you first man. She wants YOU to ask her out!!!
I have been friended before by girls from Facebook but you do have to watch out. Some of them are scammers looking for money or whatever. It’s a good thing that she is friends with a few other of your Facebook friends or I would have told you to stop talking with her and run.
