I've been pretty disappointed in FirstMet. My biggest concern is that everytime I startup FirstMet on my computer, I get presented with a message asking me if I want to install a file named seg.js. I'm a software developer and it doesn't take much to look at seg.js and see that all it does is redirect to another site. This is want viruses and scammers do. I emailed FirstMet right away, about a week ago, to ask them about this file and never received a response; even though I've received responses to other questions pretty quickly. There seems no way to stop this message from appearing unless I download the file and install it. It's getting pretty annoying.

Regarding the site itself, I'm disappointed with the filtering options. Filtering is important to me because I get way too many contacts/matches of profiles that don't come close to what I'm interested in and what I've clearly ruled out in my features. Thus, I waste a lot of time (hours) responding to profiles that don't fit my match specifications. I think dating sites, including FirstMet, are more concerned about bragging about the number of matches they deliver to you, rather than truly trying to find the best matches for you. So, they send you matches that aren't really matches.

1. They have a feature called "control who sees you" where you can specify distance, age, etc., of people who can view your profile. But most of the messages, likes, icebreakers, etc., are coming from women who don't fit within the parameters I've specified. If they can't see my profile, how do they ever know how to contact me?

2. It's not easy to find, but they also provide a way to filter your matches that FirstMet sends you or points you too. The biggest problem is they only let you filter on age, distance, and ethnicity. Why not more? They collect just about everything about everyone, why can't we filter on all of it? I'm tall and would really like to filter on height. I want to be with a tall woman, but I have to tread through all the profiles of women who aren't nearly tall enough for me. Again, a huge waste of time.

One other issue I have has to do with the icebreakers. I kind of like the icebreakers, but since they filtering is so poor on this site, I am getting icebreakers from too many women who I have no interest in meeting. But once the icebreaker appears on my screen, all I see about the woman is a picture. How can I decide from only a picture if she's someone I might be interested in contacting? I have to click the "Skip" button in order to try to find the woman's profile. Why not provide a profile link on the icebreaker message itself? Also annoying is that if I click "Skip" on the icebreaker, it repeatedly comes back up until I either answer it or delete it.
