There are a lot of fake female profiles on match - perhaps upwards of 25%. Tip offs: Less than 4 pics, a short description that would fit practically anyone, you getting their winks & favorites far outside your geographic area, attracted by high income levels (I changed my match income to blank).

Match seems to be aware of the problem. Most of the time I receive such phantom winks or favorites, their profile is hidden before I can even view it. 48hrs at most their profiles will be hidden.

One started a chat with me. Within two minutes he/she tried to send me a url to see her "photos." That link was more likely ransom ware.

You probably read the story about 95% of Ashley Madison's women profiles being fake, leaving men to pay subscription fees just to email fantasy dates that would never reply back.

Match does have real women, but I am amazed that so many are fake profiles and that Match is so lax on getting control of the situation.

Let me educate many here. I am part of a group that tests various dating sites. We have monitored POF for some time now. When it comes to Fake profiles, the number of fake male profiles has increased dramatically since Match Group took over. We know this site inside and out. Every option, its flaws, its weaknesses, etc. Even the so called security it uses to stop so called spam. Theses profiles are created bypassing that logic to catch spam. POF does not have many to monitor the app. It is fairly 100% automated. As for the fake men profiles, we delete between 30-50 per day. And they just keep returning. Why are there so many fakes, so Match can push up its numbers. It is a common tactic used by dating sites for revenue purposes. And Match knows it is occurring. Its part of the intent, get members to move to Match.com. Many are already on Match, the remainder, they are not going to go to a pay site. So bottom line, the number of fake men's and women's profiles. is on the increase. If match truly wants a good revenue generating site, stop people from creating fake profiles.
