Hi, a friend who has not been in the dating scene for quite some time is very positive about the information she is reading about the men who are on the site, any thougths from those of you who have used the site and met men? Thank-you!

I rate it a zero. Tell your friend not to waste time or money on JDate or any affiliate of Spark Networks. Go to Temple. Get involved. Meet someone nice the old fashioned way ... through a wonderful Jewish mother!! But NOT JDate.

I tried Jdate last summer (summer of 2010). I found the selection of men to be pretty similar to other dating Sites. I am of Jewish descent, but not practicing (an Atheist, actually), but figured that at least I'd be on a Site that expects me to look Jewish and not like a blonde MN Swede ;)

I did meet one man who i went out with a few times. He was very nice and was decent looking - just no chemistry for me. I also talked to another guy who didn't seem that serious about meeting - mostly just looking for someone to talk to, I think. So that never went anywhere.

I do have a relative who met his current wife in Jdate.

I think it is worth trying, if you are looking for a faith-based connection. However, if you are mostly just looking to broaden your online dating options, it's probably not worth the money.
