Relationship Advice: Why True Love Isn't Fairy Tale

I agree completely...its too bad that the majority of people these days, especially people my age, don't feel the same. I've tried. I would never be able to cheat on anyone. I'd never even look at or THINK of anyone else that way if I'm with someone...all my past relationships have failed bacause I tried to make them last and the other person was always in it just for physical reasons. Its hard to love these days. Especially since it feels like I'm the only one out here that cares that way...I could even live without the sex...I find it disgusting sometimes...its like people run like roaches do..."Be born, eat, sleep, breed, die" And thats what people live by these days. Especially people under 30. But those over 30 can be just as bad about it. I've started to believe that there are no truly "pure" or "innocent" people in the world anymore...

I'm 18. And these days its impossible for teenagers to feel the way I do. Somehow, I still manage to feel it though. I'm different than everyone I know and everyone just finds me weird. I'm still "cool " apparently...but I'm weird. I've never done drugs in my life and never plan to...and right now I know I'll never touch alcohol. One thing I have done that I'm not proud of though: I'm not a virgin. I wish I was. The only reason I'm not is because I "fell for it" because I believed someone "loved" me like I knew I could love them. Turns out they're definition of "love" was VERY different from mine.

And I'm not the kind of person people don't like...like I'm actually kind of popular apparently. I never asked to be but I guess I am. People see me in public and stare and I constantly have people tell me they either "like" me or "used to have a crush on me" at some point. I don't want everyone to like me...I just want ONE person who can LOVE me the way love SHOULD be...but obviously...no one can.

By the way, I'm a boy. There seems to be this HUGE thing going around where all guys are sick perverted pigs. I could live without any type of sex at all. I don't need it. Yeah, its nice. But for me its only nice if its with someone I love. And how can I love when I'm not sure its even possible in this day and age for anyone to love? The REAL meaning of love...not the new one.

Oh well. Doesn't matter if love is supposed to be the ONE GOOD THING about living and aging. I guess I'll learn to live without it. I'm currently in a relationship...but I'm already paranoid enough about it because of my past relationships. Yes, I realize I'm only 18...but I think I've learned enough about how people work at 18 to last me for my whole life.
