Hi,

I felt the need to comment (and I am not the type to send comments to companies).
While doing some reviews to make a decision which date site I want to approach, I came across your site.
I have been on Lavalife twice in 8 years for only a couple of weeks each time, usually to get the blood pumping again and see who is out there. I have never gone far enough to meet someone because I usually end up meeting people while I'm out.

Anyway, I am actually writing to address the review on Lavalife. You wrote as a negative: people need to be able to see when someone puts you on a hotlist. Are you guys out of your mind? Do you have any clue how intrusive that is? Hotlist is like a shopping cart that allows you to remember people while you are looking through lists of hundreds and then decide if you want to contact them later. Allowing people to see that will creep some people out, ruin spontaneity and ruin the process of building up confidence and making choices.

Allowing people to see your hotlist is like looking at someone's diary or personal information that you intended to be private. I think you missed the point of a hotlist.
If the review was based on people's comments, then they didn't think it through.

You make a good point on the Hotlist and keeping the information private. Some dating sites do show members who have added them to hotlists (or favorite list) but if members really wanted the other person to know how they feel, then they would of winked or messaged them instead.

Here are two interesting footnotes I would like to add......

Get this... After I set up my profile on Lavalife and sent you an email, I got a pop up on the website that was offering a package that allows you to pay to be able to see who has put you on their hotlist!! So, I guess that addresses your original review and goes completely against my advice ;)

Second, I went out last night for halloween and met a great girl the old fashioned way ;) So here is my take on dating sites, no matter which one you go on....
If you understand and practice the law of attraction, filling out your profile and focusing on the type of person you want sets in motion energy to attract that type of person ON or OFFLINE. That's why I always tend to always meet someone shortly after filling out a profile. In this case only a couple of days later!
