Why are there more Negative Dating Reviews than Positive?

Fling.com is definitely a scam. I don't mean that paid scammers use the site, I mean that the site itself is scam:
- unlike legitimate adult sites, free memberships are entirely useless
- their support system contradicts the reality of the site, in other words, the site is essentially a disguise to harvest your credit card information
- it is impossible to cancel a membership
- the website is not registered in the U.S., as the site pretends to be, but rather in St. Kitts & Nevis

Case closed. It's a scam.

AdultFriendFinder, and sister sites, on the other hand, I have used, and have had good experiences. Note that AFF allows "free" members to do certain things (not much, but a little), including a 'close membership' option, and they are registered in California. Of course there are small-time scammers using the site to trick people, but the site itself is legit.

After a very in depth usage of AFF, I have found that the site caters to select, favored members. For example, I had several repeat visitors to my profile where I had over 20 videos of myself playing guitar and singing. The counters for my video views never incremented. Furthermore, when I complained to the customer service call center, they locked my administrative functions for deleting, changing the order, and adding titles to my videos. The excuse was that it was a bug in the programming, but the so called bug remained for the entire last week of my membership.
During my membership, I had several members that would make contact with me and suddenly the account was deactivated.
I found dozens of fake accounts that were created by members. Women do this verify that the men they are talking to are net trying to hook up with any other member. I also found that the chat rooms are being controlled by favored members which use bullying and belittling methods to chase unwanted members out of the chat rooms.

I agree, with the chat room comment,,i have been a member of AFF for over 16 years,i used to enjoy the chat rooms,,now its more like a battleground of one group who goes in and picks on certain ones, they gang up on members that dont agree with them, get innocent one banned,,the accounts are generally reinstated after review for no wrongdoing, but its the hassle of calling CS,and waiting, and hoping to get a rep that actually seems interested in helping,It used to be the Lobby chat had well over 200 members on an average day,,now 50 is a really good day,,the bullies run most off with alll the fussing, calling them fake,or jsut plain harrasing them,,its not worth the effort,,the bullies, have been banned, come back with new names, and start it over again, picking on innocent ones.I dont blame people for not chatting,,its more depressing than most anything on the site,,i offered to be a moderator,,to no avial,i have a perfect record,no bans,im nice to everyone,,but, the rate its going,,it will soon only be the trolls/fighters/bullies to chat amoung themselves soon,,most are NON paying members, while those of us that are Gold,,pay the price for them to make us miserable,,most chat rooms have less than 20 in them, some none,or 2 or 3,soon,there will be no one in them,,the price the good chatters pay for the bad ones to run us out,,and the same bullies,go to all the rooms, not just one, they follow some around the chats,,,thats stalking,,

AdultFriendFinder scam

I agree that AFF is a scam. Before I became a Gold member I received several winks and emails. After I became a Gold member (so I could reply), I got no winks or emails and even the replies I made to the emails I had received were never answered.

AdultFriendFinder scam

Authored by: Anonymous (Anonymous User) on Monday, July 13 2009 @ 04:51 am
Hilarious. Yeah! I was a gold member of Adult Friend Finder. The only woman who contacted me was a drug addict. I met her in her hometown. She had six kids and those extra belly folds: I'm not sure what you call that. LOL. Anyway, after the first date, that was the end of it. But at least I met someone: LOL.

American women are strange. It seems that they want the bank when all you have is a quarter in your pocket: one quarter and not the roll and no I'm not happy to see you. European women dress nice, smell nice and have great attitudes. I met one on ChristiaNet. I'm on about six other free dating sites with some being listed in my previous post above: 2009.

AdultFriendFinder scam

I have been on Fling for close to 2 years now and have only good things to say. It is up to you to form friendships in this virtual medium, and it is also best to not expect that women will meet you for sex that readily (at least the more serious women like myself) We are there to enjoy some humour and banter in the video chat rooms, from some clean exhibitionism and voyeurism to just plain innocent fun. Sure, some meet in person but my guess is that the majoroty don't. Again, if you are careful about what you do and who you correspond with, you can come across the more decent people. Remember that you will NEVER form closeness without effort, with me it took time to feel close to the few people I now share with. Many have my number and we talk regularly. I am not one that will meet men for sex, but we still have fun as friends together and it is a social network for people that look for simple pleasures. For those that want more,. they wok the chat rooms first, get to know people and some have indeed met up with others and formed either sexual or romantic relationships

In the end, all sites can be scams. It is up to us to sort through and find what suits us, rather than find blame all the time:) I am glad I found fling.

aff is not a scam neither is fling I've personally hooked up with at least 10 women on aff. course i been on there since 2006. you go on the so cal chat line and find out where the m&gs are at meet and greet and thats how you hook up. usually these women are married or have some weird living situation so u need to have your own place or be ready to get a room. and you'll get laid.

Scams

Authored by: Anonymous (Anonymous User) on Thursday, December 10 2009 @ 01:16 am
Almost every dating site out there is a scam. I have tried about ten and all were fake. Yes, there may be some real people on the sites, but if 90 percent are fake and you have to pay to talk to people, that's just no good. In addition, there are many easy ways to find out if a site is fake. You can send out 20 or so requests and you will get responses from different people that are worded EXACTLY the same. It's a miracle. Or you can use various sites to trace the IP and see if they are located where they claim (usually not, sometimes in a different country all together). You can do a photo search and find out the profile pictures are everywhere including other dating sites with different information and/or names! Also, when the person you contact wants personal information or wants you to contact them at a different site, somethings wrong. Going on further, when profile pictures are of porn stars that live in small rundown towns, something, again may be wrong. I am saying that almost all dating sites are scams. I would suggest every single one is a scam but I do not have sufficient evidence to make a statement like that. Fling is a scam for sure, which is what most people have stated in this thread. Also, it is called FLING.COM, if you sign up for a site with a name like that with pornographic photos of people everywhere to chat and make friends and not to have sex with people (which is very unlikely to happen anyway), you are in the wrong place! If anyone says that dating sites are not a scam, they probably work for them. Of course, its possible they have not tried the aforementioned and are making statements without doing any research what-so-ever, which is called ignorance.
