Thank you for dropping by DatingSitesReviews.com. I created this site to assist people in finding the right online dating app and site for them. For Dating Sites Reviews (or DSR for short 😃) I wear many hats. I am a writer, editor, graphic designer, and coder. DSR also has a team of writers who contribute weekly with news articles, opinion pieces and reviews. With our articles we fact check to the best of our ability indicating our sources of information (like the dating service themselves, other news organizations, and online dating insiders) to ensure journalist integrity. With our reviews, all dating services must meet our minimum set of criteria before we consider doing a review. We also hold ourselves accountable with our own set of reviewing standards which require us to not only to write about what is good about the service, but also what needs to be improved. With each review we gather information by using the service itself. This way we can find out everything about the service from profile creation, to matching, to communicating with other members.

How did DatingSitesReviews.com get started? Good question! Early in 2003 when the online dating industry was just a few years old, several of my friends were talking about dating sites and asking me which ones were best suited for them (I'm considered the tech geek among them). After searching around online, I discovered hundreds of online dating services available to singles. This is an overwhelming number which has continued to grow and now includes thousands of different dating services.

Because there were so many options available—and knowing that many people, like my friends, were probably lost in the sea of online dating options—I decided to create a website dedicated to reviewing dating services. The site started off with just a few pages and has grown to be a huge resource of information you see today. Our team also continues to update existing reviews to keep the information current as the dating services matured and added new options and functionality over time. Many dating apps and site have been considered for review but ultimately no review was created. At DSR we decided early on to create reviews only for those dating services that meet a minimal set of criteria. We found that most singles want to know about quality online dating services, not the ones that are not any good. Who has time to waste on dating sites and apps that have no members and who may not be up to par for other reasons?

Early in 2006, DSR stepped up it's reporting on news about online dating services and the singles who use these sites. Another big change in 2006 was when we added the ability for users of our site to submit their own reviews. This review submission service is available to anyone who visits our site for any of the dating sites and dating apps we have reviewed. The user reviews are averaged and displayed predominantly on the services main review page near the top, as well as in the review summaries as seen on our main review list. Because we have established a minimum set of criteria for all the sites/apps and believe the services we've reviewed offer an above-average experience to singles, we don't score the services ourselves. Only users of the site may generate the five-star rating for each dating site or app. This gives other singles a fresh perspective and allows the reviewer to add additional information or insight on the dating service.

During 2007 we held our first Dating Sites Reviews Choice Awards. Every year since then we award dating services a number of different awards based on the niche they serve. We also hold the Single's Choice Award which is voted on by our visitors with a poll. Voting usually starts in October with the awards being handed out in the new year ending with our major Single's Choice award on Valentine’s Day. In 2008, DatingSitesReviews.com overhauled the user reviews system to include a number of new features. Instead of giving only one five-star rating, a user is now required to rate different aspects of a dating service, which would then be averaged for an overall rating. This means our reviews display not only the users' overall ratings, but the average rating of each aspect of the dating site—giving our visitors even more thorough information about the service. Most dating services have eight different aspects that must be rated for a user review. These rating criteria include popularity of the site, profile quality and cost, among other criteria.

In 2013 DatingSitesReviews.com celebrated its 10 year anniversary. In the 10 years we had published more than 3,500 informative articles and over 100 detailed reviews of dating services (with hundreds of user submitted reviews as well). At this point our users also had written thousands of comments and close to 5 thousand forum posts.

By 2017 our reviews have gotten even more detailed and contain even more information. Most reviews that have received a major update or have been added since then not only include a detailed summary but point form pros and cons, and sections on Costs, the Sign Up Process, Features Offered, and Search & Matching Basics.

As DatingSitesReviews grew it required much more time to operate (you would be surprised by the amount). Some of these tasks include: software maintenance, filtering out spam posts, and updating reviews with the latest information. The online dating industry also continues to grow and if DSR wanted to stay current it needed some additional writers. Because of these costs and others (like hosting) you will find on most review pages graphic ads and text links that either point to the dating service being reviewed or another related and popular service. If you click on these links and sign up for the service, we may get a small commission for sending the dating service a lead. While this may indicate we favor some dating services over others, this is not the case. Many of our most popular reviews are for services we have no relationship with. Besides, it's in our best interest to keep our reviews truthful and honest. We strive to maintain the integrity and usefulness of our site so that you have a great experience—both on our site as well as the dating sites and dating apps you choose to explore. Since we are such a large resource of information and continue to maintain our integrity and honesty, DatingSitesReviews.com has been mentioned a number of times by major media brands like Time Magazine and CNN. Other features we have added over the year that are built into DatingSitesReviews.com include allowing our users to voice their opinions through comments on articles, messages in our forums and, of course, user reviews. These features provide transparency: users may either agree or disagree with our reviewed opinion. Participating in our forums also allows users to discuss almost any subject that relates to relationships and dating, and to get other singles’ opinions and points of view.

Over the years I have had more than twenty personal friends that have tried the recommendations found on DSR and have found a partner. Most of them are still together to this day! I hope to continue with this site to help people find the right dating apps and sites for them.
