We closed the 2007 Dating Sites Reviews Singles Choice Award Poll yesterday (Nov. 30) with a total of 453 votes from the public. Over all it was a closer race than I thought it was going to be among our viewers in deciding the most popular dating service. In the end the public decided, and the dating site with the most votes and thereby the recipient of the Singles's Choice award for 2007 is Match.com. They had just over 23% of the total number of votes. Out of 8 dating sites selected for nomination Match.com collected 105 votes beating eHarmony by almost 6%, or 27 votes. Yahoo! Personals was a very close third with 73 votes, 5 fewer votes and just over 1% less than eHarmony. From there on, Lavalife was fourth at 13% and then the rest followed a few percentage points lower at each placement. It ends at Date.com being last, and receiving 5.96% of the votes. I must point out all sites which where nominated for this award offer a very good dating service and singles who pick anyone of these sites to join shouldn't be disappointed.
I'm not surprised that Match.com won this award. They have been a very strong and popular dating service for the last several years. Their constant improvements to the site, matchMobile (which is cell browser access to the dating site) and interface makeovers have always kept them a step ahead of the competition. Plus there smart and tasteful advertising on the internet and TV have help them bring in quality members who are looking for a meaningful relationship.
Match.com was also the recipient of the Editor's Top Pick - Over All award as well this year making it the only dating site too win two awards.
