You should see more than one person. If one of those grows into something special then see just them. To stop seeing others just because you've 'made love' is a trap and I think that is the real point beng said here, having sex with more than one person. Women that think you are commited to them because they slept with you is nothing but a giant control thing. Sex is a natural and beautiful experience and should not be used to lay guilt on someone or to control them so you can get your way. If you think you 'own' someone because you had sex with them then see a therapist. Go into this kind of decision with your eyes wide open. It is your choice to be intimate or not. It's no one's fault if you don't get your way and the realationship didn't grow. Move on and grow up.

Really? We're still having this conversation in the 21st Century? The practical realities are that most (sooner or later) do. It's easy enough to be sel-righteous if you're opposed to it on "moral" grounds when you're not doing it... yourself at least not right now. You can say you outgrew it, if you're old enough to make that claim...or you can say you never would/will...if you haven't (yet).

But tomorrow...you've mastered that, have you? We'll see.... ;-)

I am a male and am terrified of STD's. Dating women especially of the over fifty age group is a risky thing. There is no telling how many men these women have been with and, thus, if they are infected with something that they could pass on to me. Ya, a condom is an option. But who wants to use a condom for the rest of their life?

Oh well, the risky search continues for my lady for life! :-)

Just thinking about dating 2 people at the same time does not work for me and would make me nauseous worrying. My father dates 2 gals at the same time and he seems to be addicted to the drama and the chaos. We should stick to whatever makes our world seem more bright, it's all just an illusion of the senses and the choice of happiness or misery is our own.

Whatever happened to "going steady"? That's the phase after a couple agrees they'd like to take the relationship more seriously. It's ridiculous to "go steady" as of the first date! Whose idea was that?

I think that online dating sites have made dating multiple people even easier than the old way of meeting. Normally you would meet one person at one time, but now with a click of the mouse...the world is your oyster. It's bad enough most men cheated and some woman cheated before online dating, now this gives them more ways to cheat. But, who are they REALLY cheating...hmmm?

Why do men most men feel the need to continue to search knowing you can see that they're online looking when they claim that they are interested in you and are dating you?? Is there a timeframe when you stop searching the website and focus on that ONE person, and give that a chance??

So, my answer to the question, "is it ok to date more than one person at a time". Well, no one would have to if people were just honest about who they really want to be with and STOP having that "the grass is greener" mentality. Just get over yourself already, you're not MR. Perfect of Ms. Perfect, and you will NEVER find them, they DON'T exist. Look for a great human-being with some appeal...that's what I'm looking for.

Dating does not a relationship make, my dear. Dating is how you get to know someone, then you can decide if you want a relationship. Dating also does not include sex in my definition, so maybe that's the problem? You have sex too soon and assume that means you're committed? Dating more than one person at a time is like have more than one good friend at a time. It's possible and perfectly acceptable!

Men do it all of the time. I think it's healthy. As long as you're not sleeping with them... DATE AWAY!!! When you're focused on ONE, and it doesn't lead to marriage.. then you've wasted your time. I heard it's best to have a pair and a spare. That way when he/she isn't calling you can be distracted by the other two. You seem more interesting and less needy that way. Get the book, "How to Date Like a Man'. It's FANTASTIC!!

I believe dating more than one person, is a perfect example of not being selfish. This will allow everyone to explore freely. Hoping everyone will enjoy the experience of feeling free from making decisions to soon.
